Polyline 3D Wall Editor Issues

Recommended Posts

Hello brilliant C.A. users!

I run into wall issues often, so there is something basic I am not understanding about how chief builds the 3D model. Example in photo attached. There is multiple sections to an automatically created polyline 3D wall. How do I get this to be one solid wall? Also, this wall needs to be siding for the top exterior portion, and drywall/paint for the lower interior portion. I can't seem to figure this out.

FYI, this is an old file, and is from when was just starting to understand Chief. So, it will not be pretty to dig into, I'm sure.

Any guidance on what I am not understanding is appreciated!

Your walls are displaying correctly.  Are you wanting to eliminate the fills and lines of the individual layers of the wall?  If so, that is done by defining the wall.  It will change on the plan after you change the wall definition.

Your top 2 issues are wall alignments and roof joins. Walls need to align side to side, and one over the other.

You will need a ceiling plane drawn in on one side to fill the gap when the roof is correctly built.
