I need someone to take what I have and finish out the construction drawings.
We just finalized our plans with our builder last night, and now we need to complete the construction set to submit to the city for permit.  We are building in Broadview Heights, Ohio.
It can take up to 30 days for the city to approve, so I would like to have these drawings done ASAP so that we can break ground by the end of June.

Attached is the plan file and layout file I've got. I made both, so if you have questions or if any resources are missing or whatever, I should be able to help. The layout file included is the preliminary drawing set I provided to the builder for contract & pricing and the bank for appraisal and loan closing.  I'm a mechanical engineer, so I'm a little outside my depth in determining how much more I need to add to this in order to submit to the city. Additionally, my role at work recently changed leaving me with a shortage of free time to really dabble in the layout.  I'm just looking for someone to take what I have and push it the last few yards over the finish line.

Deliverables expected are a CA plan and layout file.
I do not need PDFs or prints (we can handle that).
The files are to be unlocked and compatible with CA X9 or X10 so that I can make changes myself if needed.
You can use as much or as little of my layout file as you wish.

Excluded from the scope are mechanical, electrical, and site plan - the builder is supplying those.
I don't need renderings either, however, I'm open to additional views or screenshots wherever needed.  More detail = less chance for misinterpretation!

Please respond with your quote to s.soeder@gmail.com or reply to this thread.

      Thanks!

PS> we are building using the Swedish platform framing system, so any questions on the framing plans or wall details or whatever, please clarify with me.  Thanks again!

So here I am again, back at the fountain of information.

A contractor is asking for flat projections of roof plans to assist his carpenters in laying out the rafters.

I can see how to do elevations, and I can see how to do plan views, but is there any way to do a skewed plan from horizontal projection or section for that matter?

Brown & Beattie Ltd. are Building Science Engineers that provide assistance to Owners and Property Managers in the effective restoration and/or maintenance of their buildings.  We present options and recommendations for appropriate repair programs to major building systems and oversee the work for conformance to specified standards.  We provide building condition assessments and budget forecasting to enable our clients to effectively budget for building repairs.

In this Project Technologist / Draftsperson position, the successful candidate will be primarily involved in the preparation of design drawings (using AutoCAD or Chief Architect) for a wide variety of building types and conditions including fires, floods, vehicle impacts, as well as the collection of information from the field and reporting to the Project Engineers.  This will include during initial planning stages as well as throughout the course of the restoration work. Typical projects include rehabilitation of reinforced concrete parking garage structures, balconies, exterior walls, and roofing systems, as well as involvement with building condition assessments.

Additional responsibility would also be to maintain typical details based on direction from senior engineers as required.

Familiarization with building science concepts would be an asset; however extensive related knowledge is not required.  The successful candidate will need to effectively convey their thoughts, observations, and relevant information both within the company and on site to building contractors and clients.  The successful candidate must possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  Effective time management skills would be an asset as the successful candidate will be involved in multiple projects at the same time.

Since the position involves some site work, a reliable vehicle and valid driver's license are a must.  Also, the position involves accessing the sides of buildings on suspended stages, so the applicants cannot have a fear of heights.

Salary is competitive and negotiable depending on applicant qualifications.  Interested candidates should submit their resumes via email to burford@brownbeattie.com

No phone calls please!  We thank everyone who applies, however only qualified applicants will be contacted.
