ablackmon81
Hi! I'm drawing a house that's basically a rectangle with a few adjustments to perimeter. (rectangle with carport/storage jutting out the rear of house) so basically and L shaped perimeter. When I auto build roof for gable it gets very crazy. I prefer adjusting with auto build roofs but it's never getting it correct. Is there something I'm not doing? Is there something in the preferences that I'm supposed to change? The rooms have different ceiling heights, but shouldn't the roof just go higher to cover that? Building roofs always get me frustrated! Thanks in advance. javatom
Auto build roofs take their cue from the ceiling heights so it really does change how the roof builds.
ablackmon81
Gotcha. So what do you recommend?
ablackmon81
Yes, thanks! I'm so new to all of this. Ok, I've attached my plan and elevation pic of what they are wanting. plan_3.plan
ablackmon81
Ok, great! Thanks! I'll take a look at it and will also update my signature. Apparently my winzip has expired.
ablackmon81
I was able to open and it look at it. Thanks! So you basically added floor 2 and drew roof lines on top of that. Did you use auto build roof at all or just draw them manually?
ablackmon81
perfect, thanks!
javatom
I would also double check the accuracy of those exterior walls. They show as fractions of an inch. If your thought is to change them AFTER you do the roof, it's a really problem prone way to do a plan.
