jeders
I apologize if this has been answered before, I couldn't find any answers through search. I manage a large office building and use CA 8.0 to do remodel designs, and it has been a huge help over the years. Unfortunately, my old computer stopped working and I had to upgrade to a new one with Windows 7, and my old parallel port hardware lock won't work with it; so now I'm looking at upgrading to X6. I've downloaded the demo and have been using my old plan files with it succesfully (yay). However, the demo doesn't allow you to save, and I wanted to know if I could open files saved in X6 with 8.
i4HomeDesign
NO. There is zero backwards compatibility. I can not even open and file saved with X6 in X5 let alone 8.0 Sorry to inform you of this.
Kbird1
add an aftermarket parallel port to your computer perhaps... will need win7 drivers I guess , though I am not sure about running CA 8.0 on win 7, but you could dualboot win7 with XP and use it with just CA8.0 and a parallel port addon. ( same as a printer port I believe)
