I am very new to chief architect so I need some assistance.
I have a two story building where the ceiling height over the living space and part of the mud room has 9ft ceilings where the rest of the house is at 8ft ceilings. I have tried changing the floor height of the upper level but it just changes my overall ceiling height of the lower floor to 8ft.
In the image I have my file with the pdf of the design below. You can see the beam going down the center (to the left of the stairs). The area to the left has 9ft ceilings with a gable roof above, and the area to the right has 8ft ceilings with another level above.
How can I get the program to recognize I want to change the height over the stairs/part of the laundry/bedroom etc?
My symbols and content thread is being forced into some very unsavory directions..like this:
I update my main thread every time I update my posts..and suddenly I have to remove my tags or forego the edit? WTH.
That thread has brought over 54K views to this site, and a large part of it is because of those tags. Now I will painstakingly go through post by post to disperse the tags.
I just hit an attachment cap for my profile????
Would you rather I just provide links now? I already spent my time re-rigging my recording setup to get under the new 14mb video limit. This is starting to feel a lot like WORK to bring market value to this site with generous doses of user-created content that promotes the brand. Forgive the rant but I am here to help the brand, and though I appreciate the community here, my main purpose for logging in his helping people to love and enjoy this software. My hands are being tied when I have to manage my input.
I don't mind sifting through my old posts now and taking my time to delete valuable videos and images so that I can contribute more, but I would at least hope for a better and more automated system to do so.
I'm looking for some suggestions on how to build the sloped ceiling underneath the stair platform. I can make a sloped ceiling plane, but then I don't' know how to build it out. All of the other methods I've seen require building a roof. However this does not have or need any roof framing. I guess I could build a polyline solid and save that as a soffit? Is that the best way to do it? It's kind of an odd setup if you ask me, but I need to include the detail in an as built plan for a remodel project.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
I'm new to chief architect and I'm having trouble with this tricky sloped wall. For some reason this weird cut out that reflects the shape of the stair railings is showing up on the ceiling. If anyone has recommendations on how to fix this please share! Thanks
