Recommended Posts

Is there a way to add a fourth stringer to a set of stairs?

Thank you,

Sometimes a search will find some ideas.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.  I did try a search initially, but search term(s) I used did not yield this result.

Sounds like adding strings is a fairly common concern, according to the posts.

Thanks again,

Tim

And, please post images directly. No need to make a PDF of an image.

If all you need to do is show them in plan, use CAD lines drawn in as required.

A framing member, polyline etc work too. Anything you can change the line style.

Your plan shows a single stringer -- where did it come from?

That automatically displayed with the stairs.

So, doing as you suggest and adding a couple framing member polylines, then line selecting dashed, would work fine...I just need to 'white out' the single stringer.

You should be able to turn off the stringer layer.

I have an octagonal shaped room (silo, 3 stories tall) and I need to build a stair case along the outer wall, following the shape of the octagon, with winders in the corners. What is the best way to go about doing this? I can't seem to figure out how to get the angles correct, the railings to work, get it to create winders on the corners, or get it tight to the wall.

Hello, I need help creating this specific balaced stair in chief architect premier x12.
The only thing i could think of was to manually create every step from slabs. I still need to corect some steps from plan view but at least the height and length are good - now how can i add the rails on the inside and outside walls?

Or maybe is wrongfully thought from the start; what is the simplest, smartest way to create this type of stairs?
