Roof Deck

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how to create a roof deck on top of the second floor adjacent to another roof structure. Or even cut in a roof deck on and existing roof line?

I want to put a roof deck on the room that has no ceiling. I just began using the pro version and am not great at it after having used 2d most of the time. Since the upper floor rooms all join it was hard for me to create a gable roof over only a portion of the upper floor without creating an exterior wall on the interior so CA thought it was an outside wall. I then ended up deleting the ceiling of the area I wanted to place the roof deck to build the deck. I suspect I have made a mess out of this plan but need to repair what I've done rather than start again. Lessons are being learned here with my mistakes.

Thanks

Are you using Home Designer or Chief Architect?

Your PDF is empty.

Please post an image instead of a PDF of an image.

And, this should be posted in Q&A, not Local User Groups.

oh Ok. I'm using Home Designer Pro which seemed to be most of what we needed for a small size construction company. I'll use Q & A next thing sorry.

You are also in the wrong forum :)

Pro has much in common with the Chief Architect products, but also has many limitations.

You have found the forum for the Chief Architect branded products.

Home Designer users have their own forum, HomeTalk, where you will find suggestions based on your software.

Thanks. One last question. I was told when purchasing Home Designer Pro that it would be an easy transition to Chief Architect if I chose to upgrade. Would you agree with that opinion?

Every thing you learn, and all the work you do will transfer directly to Chief.

It's what I did, starting with Pro and upgrading.
