Grouping Lines in a Layout for mass changes?

If I send a view to Layout, and begin individually editing lines, is there a way to "group" individual lines such that that "group" could be later changed again en masse?

 

For example, in layout I have an elevation view of a house with an addition. I change all the lines that represent the lap siding on the addition to red dashed lines. Later, I decide I'd rather have those same lines be solid green lines.

 

Is there a way to make that change without having to go back and individually change each line (or whatever group of lines I could grab with the marquee selection tool)?

If it is specifically pattern lines you are working with it would be best to go back to the plan file and adjust the Material Definition.  Or if it is a simple cad line in layout you can create another cad layer in layout and if there are a lot of them assign that as the current cad layer but always best to work in the plan file when you can.
