James101
Hello Everyone, I am looking for some help with a deck I'm designing for my wife and I's future home. I really like the look of Ipe decking but can't find the pattern in Chief. Anyone know how to achieve this look? Thanks!
tommy1
Just do a Google search and you'll find images.
James101
Okay thanks for the response. I am admittedly a new person to the program. How do I get the picture into the program? Thank you so much
tommy1
What I do is place the picture in a folder. Name the folder what you want and place it in your Chief Architect Premier Data folder under my textures. Then open the program and do a convert textures to materials. It will then place it in your User library and is ready to use.
James101
Thank you. I put the picture into a file and got it into my user library but when I apply it to my deck it becomes distorted. Do you have any suggestions as to why that is? I attached a picture below. Thank You
Dennis_Gavin
you have to change the x and y settings for the image. there are 7 boards at 5 1/2" each so the x would be 7x5.5 the y can be anything that looks good. 96, 120 etc. it will stretch to whatever length. IF it looks too stretched lower the number but that sometimes makes a repeat of the pattern more visible. IF things don't look right based on what I am telling you reverse the x and y settings as the orientation is opposite.
James101
Thanks guys! The problem was that the picture had a white border on it and that was getting into the images. Thanks a lot!
