OldCKD
I just went to do a quick ray-trace on a project I am finalizing, and got a bit of a shock at how one object rendered. The object was imported from Sketch-Up, and looked just fine in the camera view. But after the rendering developed - surprise! Any way to fix this? Why did this happen? Joe_Carrick
It's probably a missing texture. Sometimes the models imported from Sketchup just have a pic of the front of the fixture. If it isn't properly imported into the Library Chief can substitute what if thinks is "close".
OldCKD
Thanks Joe. I think you're right about the pic - looking at my camera view, it appears it's a little skewed on the face of the object. I needed a Bertazzoni range and thought I'd found an adequate one but this isn't working.
Joe_Carrick
That's a bummer! Unfortunately there are a lot of poorly done models in the 3D Warehouse. Many are just cube shapes with a pic applied to each face. That's not the same as a detailed model with different materials.
jcaffee
Try... http://www.modelplusmodel.com/tech/appliances/1013-bertazzoni-range.html You may have model compatibility issues with their *.obj. If you go this route and have trouble with the obj model, then give a shout and I can run it through a MooTools conversion to 3ds, dae, or skp with all the correct material areas.
