capitaldesigns
I am new to Chief, I am using X-8. I have added a Jenn-Air refrigerator to a kitchen remodel I am working on. The finish materials under fixture specifications is stainless steel brushed. After 310 passes in Ray Trace the refrigerator is showing up black. I have added 3 light sources in front of the refrigerator and it still comes out black. How do I get the finish to show up looking like a stainless steel finish? Thanks, Mike
DougMaddox
Mike, Not sure if this will help but, change material to "Stainless Steel" as found in "Bonus catalogs" - Kitchen styles - international contemporary - materials - stainless steel. capitaldesigns
Thanks Doug. I can not find a category called Kitchen Styles in the bonus catalog. I did change the material to stainless steel polished which is under the core catalog. I have added several more light sources in front of the refrigerator to see if that helped. It definitely made the surface of the refrigerator much lighter where the lights are hitting it. The rest of the surface is still black. Solution Richard_Morrison Posted July 7, 2016 Solution Share Posted July 7, 2016 The metals don't seem to have a JPG texture associated with them, and so render black. I suggest downloading the bonus catalog called Metal Materials, and trying one of those.
