Sun Angle and Plan View Shadows (chiefarchitect.com)

THAT DOES WORK BUT THEN i LOOSE ALL DIMENSIONS ARROWS AND SUCH.  i WATCHED THE VIDEO ON CHIEF AND HE DOES IT USING THE FIRST FLOOR PLAN.  AND IT WORKS FINE FOR HIM BUT NOT FOR ME.

THE CITY WANTS A SHADOW DIAGRAM DONE THAT SHOWS HOW THE NEW HOUSE WILL CAST ITS SHADOW ONTO THE NEIGHBOR SO AS NOT TO INTERFERE WITH THEIR SOLAR PANELS THAT NOW DO NOT EXIST.  SO i HAVE ENTERED A NORTH AROW IN MY PLAN AND FILLED IN ALL THE LATITUDE, LONGITUDE AND DATE AND TIME AND THE LENGTH OF THE SHADOW.  THE SUN ANGLE APPEARS ON THE PLAN BUT NO SHADOW IS CAST. SO DOWN ON THE TASK BAR THERE IS A BUTTON FOR CAST SHADOW BUT IT DOES NOTHING.  ANYONE HAVE AN ANSWER TO THIS PERPLEXING ISSUE?

Anyone know where to get a material to depict board on board or board and batten material?  Maybe an 8" exposure and a 2" batt?  I do not think my abilities allow me to make that material in chief.

Thank you for that.  But with closed cell foam don’t you have to fill the whole bay to the face of rafter??  Or can it be half filled?

This is not a program issue.  I am looking for a good detail for venting a cathedral ceiling.  I get that we need 1.5" above the insulation in each bay or rafter space.  But how many sq. inches of opening at the soffit and at the ridge for the ridge vent?  and engineers hate this ridge venting in general because it destroys their roof diaphragm.  Anyone also have a detail to use on a plan?

I have a room with a vaulted ceiling.  In camera view is shows that way.  When I check the room specifications i have the flat ceiling unchecked but when I to a wall elevation camera fiew it cuts the wall off at what should be the plate height.  Not sure what is going on there.

Thanks RGARDNER, I love figuring out new ways do do a design.  Cant wait to try the joined roofs.

When you say make one do you mean a polyline solid?

I am designing a pergola.  So I am wondering if on the support beams and the rafters, which I made from general framing, can have a detail on the ends similar to a roof fafter tail.

I want to do a half wall that also acts as th stair railing.  Although maybe 1/3 of the way and then build an open railing on top of that closed railing.

I have a u shape staircase.  I want to put an extra stair on the landing.  So you reach the landing, turn 90 deg. and step up.  Then turn 90 deg. again and continue up the second flight.

When I add a side door to a garage exterior wall the door will not cut the grade beam. The door just gets burred in it.  It doesn't make a difference it I add the door prior or after adding the foundation.

MAYBE I HAVE BEEN STARING AT THIS SCREEN TO LONG.  MY GARAGE SLAB DISAPEARED AND CAMERA VIEW JUST SHOWS A HOLE.  NO SLAB.

same thing in Bedroom 1 where I had a closet at one time.
