It is DEFINITELY a familiarity thing Michael.. I grew up Imperial and won't mind going metric.. I think it would save companies fortunes if the US would drop the ego and make the change...

Dropbox, Icloud, Box, Idrive, Google Drive.. etc. They are remote storage services where you can store your data and access from any computer, anywhere. Icloud, however caters more to Apple devices.

Anyone notice he is in India? He may not have all the choices we have in the US... In third world countries zoning barely exists.. People are sold plots with no consideration of build-ability.. redefines "buyer beware"...
It is common to be sold land that is not legally owned by the seller with no recourse later..

Johnny,
The grayscale does nicely reduce the contrast of the shadows on white.. Not sure of this "Footnotes for everything" convention.. just as easy to directly note the Elevations themselves to me.. easier reading as well. I've seen it on plans as well with everything seemingly on a schedule/list.

Thanks...

3D Mouse.........
The controls for the 3D mouse still work backwards from all other Cad software that uses the mouse. Move to the left on the Control...... mouse view should go to the left instead it goes to the right move control to the left house moves to the right........ pull the control out and it should zoom larger........ Chief zooms smaller...........( Sketchup 2016, Rhinoceros 5, Autocad 2015, Solidworks, FormZ 8.5, Turbocad 2016 all move correctly............ and yes you can in the 3D Connexion ......Home reverse the Navigation but then if you are using other programs that use the correct orientation at the same time all the others are wrong......)
If 3D mouse is to be viable....... you guys either need to get on board with other software or allow changes with-in preferences.

Kevin,
In Preferences --> Render -- Set 3D mouse to "Rotate About Camera Focal Point".. Then in a Chief 3d window Reverse all advanced 3D mouse settings. It then navigates exactly as in Sketchup, and I assume other programs. Profiles switch dynamically as you move between programs as each program has it's own profile.

Interested as well Graham..

Thanks Johnny.. Great effort. Yes shape modelling should be completely Rule free ala Sketchup.

Very nice Johnny!.. Lumion quite good... Chief Model?

"nervously raising hand...."
what does "XOR" stand for?

Set the weights with Layersets?
-
That is quite interesting.. I find Chief's default of moving the camera more intuitive.. But as Johnny said the Spacemouse system tray settings can reverse this specific to each application.. Switch apps, settings change. Very slick. The Zoom issue is a problem but not caused by the Sapcemouse implementation.. I think it's always been this way..

Scott.. I do have that unchecked but only helps in 3D, not 2D..
Alan.. Yes I have it open all the time but just discovered you can add the lock column to the ALDO!..
-
That works I guess... Going senile.. found the answer 3 minutes after starting the topic. Anyone with a better idea please chime in.

Rashid...
You can try locking the Room layer..
-
This is likely a "duh, you must be over 50" and forgot" moment. On a daily basis while working on floor plans the Rooms select way too often and gets in my way.. Ideally a triple select to select Room will be great. Once the structure is established, I rarely need to select rooms...
A setting somewhere?

Built my box last year and should have spent $300 more for a top end Intel CPU... Quite amazing how I was thinking at the time... wait.. i wasn't thinking.. DO NOT SKIMP on CPU!.. Besides video editing/gaming 3D Architectural software requires the fastest.

I doubt davidinvest cares... This IS THE most helpful, least thanked forum on the face of the earth, bar none.

Ross,
How do you handle things if a revision is made that must be applied to all versions?
-
without any sense of lag whatsoever.
Wow... My files typically and less than 20mb and there is always at least 1 one second lag, often longer. Undo's always twice as long. I even draw cabinets as lines to reduce lag. Perhaps AMD not as fast as Intel for same spec CPUs?
A few years back there was a test using a baseline file that could be useful here to compare apples to apples.

Robert,, why not simply use a Psolid? And the OP is not clear on what "curved" wall means.. maybe curved in plan view?
-
Terry,
Some Vendor Forums have a section for each version as well as a General section.. There are never "what version are you using?" questions.. A good idea...
My X8 menus here are fine...
As far as the mouse, click the left button and under properties you can adjust the speed.

Code controls? That's a programming rabbit hole.. Who will be blamed for violations? Besides there are already enough unintended issues that occur due the the current level of over-automation.
