I purchased the top of the line D810 touch to use with ipad and it is great and can probably cook meals and auto align with the stars I just have not figured it all out yet. Two weeks later they announce the E7100i (also purchased, why not) that works with ipad and is hundreds cheaper but only measures distances go figure. Turns out the 7100 works great with room planner and is so much easier to manage while juggling other things and or having to talk to people as you go. I do not know if it “auto-levels” but using my built in incline-o-meter between my ears I do not think I can be off that much. (The camera on the 810 is very helpful for outside stuff and large distances) The web sites that sell them give a good discount if you email them for a quote. Hoping room planner 3.0 acknowledges that walls can be thicker than 4" in real life...

I do have copies of the plan prior to update. I fully recognize potential user error. I did not have these issues yesterday prior to update......thanks again eric

After much delay I updated my x6 to version to 16.1.1.20 x64.(from last prior update) I opened a large important project and see some unexpected ceiling plane dotted lines that I can not select (the layer is empty) and a roof overhang that has moved/extended and that I can not select... I had no problems before the update. The file is 91 MB so is hard to post I do not have the time/patience to trouble shoot these items or find other things that may have gone wrong with the plan at this stage. Is there a way to roll back to the prior version ? Thank You Eric

Scouring the videos for signs of exciting new buttons to push for architects I see none. Looks like x7 is the year of the kitchen designer. See you next year..... -

I see your points on all the clicks. I was just trying to be a smart ***. (I also see the forum knows how to auto censure naughty words) I did not know references to dogs that were female was naughty these days. My apologies Eric -

Funny how many revit forum posts complain about the ribbon interface. Always something to ***** about no matter what you do. I am so glad Chief Kitchen Designer is getting another cabinet tool. Not what I am looking for. (See previous sentence about complainers)..... Still happy to cough up cheap ssa money to Chief vrs ADesk's yearly rip off...... Eric -
IFC in/out would be helpful but I think it is a problem for chief at the moment based on the software code..?. Chief was BIM before there was BIM but too much modern BIM stuff could make chief as unwieldy and bloated as the other mega $$ software. Most of my area contractors and clients are BIMBOS when it comes to BIM and would not be able to take advantage of the capabilities or end up using it against me. Let's work on making stairs look correct in 2d first......... Eric

To keep the plate hts the same you need to adjust the length of the overhangs to match the main fascia ht If you match a 10 pitch to the 4 pitch the overhang on the 10 pitch needs to be shorter....perhaps that's not your question..but If you are changing roof rafter sizes on different roof planes it is making things more difficult for the carpenter. Make them all 2x10s. It's only money

I have an apartment building project that has a file size of 60mb and a layout of 20mb. Most of the 3d items are in except electric. Chief is working fine now but I still have a lot of cad and details to go. Has any one run up against problems or limitations related to file size other than slowness from the program standpoint. (not hardware) I did a search for file size limitations but did not find any info. (maybe its not a large file for others) Thank you for your feedback. Eric I7/ 12gb ram / GeForce 780

Hi all, I am trying to use the "select same" tool on doors and windows with x6 When I generate a schedule and then pick a door and try to "select same" by schedule #, It only selects the same one door and not the other doors with the same schedule number and attributes. I have tried this in my current plan as well as starting a new file with the same results. Perhaps I am missing something.. Thank You, Eric
