Thanks Eric. Lets me know Im not totally crazy. I haven't yet upgraded and was planning to hold off a bit for final release but may be forced to do so now ? With upgrade/ renewal of SSA I understand we get updates for 12 months so X12 should be online in that time. I have typically skipped years in upgrades.

Thanks. I did that...nothing happens. Out of curiosity could you repost the file you changed? Maybe it will work ??? I know I have been having problems with Chief the past month with plans locking up when using libraries and changing materials in a model perhaps my program is messed up??? No idea. I sent it to a friend yesterday and he had same problem of it not working on those roofs.

Ok I had issues with this plan yesterday on ceiling and floor elevations getting changed magically. I got that figured it out and set roofs to mostly be 12:12 pitch for study and they all generated fine. I went to reduce pitch to 8 12 and not sure if I made any other changes but nothing I thought would cause problems and then second floor roof wouldn't generate and some first floor roofs getting clipped ??? I tried copying first floor over to a new plan, rebuilding a new second floor ( exterior walls) from scratch then copying and pasting windows and interior walls into that and it gets a bit better but still no roof over second floor. Anyone ever experience this? First 2 pics are of original plan..third is from new model with rebuilt second floor Thanks

Michael, Thanks I changed the rooms individually back top defaults ( although I never changed them to begin with. I had the exterior walls completed and set room height at 8 ft before I ever added interior walls.) I tried using the match properties command as you had suggested and that worked but a bunch of windows, stairs and a floor moved up to the second floor as shown in the one picture so I didn't know what to try.

Attaching the file if it helps Thompson.plan

Ok I have a plan I laid out first floor exterior walls. set floor height at 9' then laid out interior walls and things were fine. I added 2nd floor at 8 ' and laid out interior walls as well and thought I was fine. Doing overview I see my model has one room higher( the correct 8 ft clg and al others about a foot lower even though dbx says 8 feet for all rooms. I saw another thread about this and HumbleChief posted a video of how to be sure all rooms on the floor were matching using match properties...starting on second floor. I did that and second floor all works out but it moved a bunch of windows, a part of floor and stairs moved up to the second floor ???? Now all kinds of things are messed up? How can this happen on this program after X10.... Including a few pics

I may be crazy but I swear I used to be able to change the color of stucco using a client chosen color without changing / losing the stucco texture. In X10 I seem to have lost that ability or am just missing something. I am doing a small addition / remodel to a house that is stucco and some shakes in the gables. They want to change the colors and have selected a color that I imported a jpeg from SW website since it doesn't show in online catalog. Whenever I try to apply that color I lose the stucco texture and its just a flat wall. Same goes for shakes in gable( if I don't choose the certainteed colors) Am I missing a way to just apply color and keep the texture ? Thanks in advance.

Mark Holding the control key while scrolling worked for me and cut the zooming distance down quite a bit... Thanks... I wish there was a permanent fix but that really helps.. I am using a Microsoft 3500 mouse and based on a few other comments it seems it may be a mouse issue. I tried both mouse and program settings but found no fix. Thanks again

When I have a perspective view camera and I zoom in or out the camera moves in what seems to be about 10' increments. While I can work with/around it I cant seem to find a way to change that increment to be smaller smoother moves / zooming. I have tried the incremental move distance in camera defaults but that doesn't change it...Not sure if that's a setting for plan moves or what. I have tried the mouse settings and nothing on there seems to change it. Its the same if I use the keyboard for zooming in or out so it doesn't seem to be only a mouse issue. Anyone else experience this ? any suggestions for changing it ? Thanks

THANKS GUYS I APPRECIATE THE HELP. I WILL LOOK AT BOTH SUGGESTIONS

I HAVENT UPLOADED PLANS BEFORE SO NOT SURE IF ALL THE EXTRA STUFF MAKES FILE TOO LARGE BUT HERE IT IS

YES WAS GARAGE ALL ALONG...I HAVENT DONE ANY FRAMING PLANS ETC AS ITS JUST A MODEL. EVEN AFTER CLIPPING OUT FROM ELEVATION IT SHOWS NO OPENING ON FOUNDATION PLAN. BUT A DETACHED GARAGE NEXT TO IT DOES SHOW THE CUTOUTS
-
Ok I just realized I could go into an elevation and clip the foundation on each side of doors and then drag top of foundation down. Is that the normal process ? Or is there another way that is automatic ?
-
I'm trying to get the garage door to sit on slab and have foundation cut out but the doors keeps getting obscured by the foundation. I look at the foundation plan and it shows no cut out. I have the terrain set at 20" below subfloor and garage slab set at -20" does chief not automatically cut out the foundation to under the slab? If I lower the doors manually after a few minutes or any new camera view the doors are cut off again at bottom by the foundation. Am I not checking some box ? Thanks

Thanks Eric that did the trick !

Wow first of all let me say I'm not sure what experience others are having but X10 is so much faster on my laptop than X8 was and haven't used many of the new tools yet I'm very happy to see it working as I always hoped it had. Well done Chief ! Now with the garage doors on the pony wall is there a way to get the stone lower wall to continue over to the door and stop the casing at the wall cap? I think in older version x8 I had to do pony wall cap etc manually but since pony wall is much more integrated and easy to use I cant see a way to achieve this. Thanks for any info
-
Thanks guys I will try that...

I am using x8 on this model...I upgraded to X9-10 but had some issues trying to open it in later versions. Its only for preliminary design for her to use t sell new memberships, marketing and bank loans etc. Construction docs will be done by her contractor. So I was hoping there might be a simple way to change colors after the fact without too much work. does wall covering work for outside ? If so I might be able to add it then paint it in a different color siding
-
Thanks , I probably wont rework the plan with a pony wall as its just to show my niece a design option for a new gym I did for her. But I haven't used wall material regions...I will read up on that to see if it is an option ?
-
Is there a way for me to change a portion of the exterior metal siding to get a 2 tone look? a darker color on the bottom 2/3 and lighter on the upper 1/3 or so?
-
Just FYI not sure what printer you use but I buy 12x18 sheets so 24x36 sheets plot nicely at half scale or 1/8". Most oversize home office style printers will print up to13x19 sheets and check sets are to a usable scale.
