Exactly and I figured it out. The edit snap properties(intersections) in preferences randomly gets unchecked constantly and I don't know why. I have never changed it in preferences which are supposedly global.  I think what happens is  if I import a drawing from someone else -- it will un-check it but I am not sure why. No big deal. 

Are you talking about one of the Extensions at Preferences...Edit...Snap Properties...Extensions...

I am getting really good at this program and don't ask a lot of question. This one aggravates the crap out of me the dashed line that shows wall intersections when your drawing walls keeps turning off where is this setting? I found it one time... I  keep resetting defaults to get it to reappear.. I don't have to use it but it is a handy little guy....

I just received the printed Reference Manual.  I'm going to read all 1,244 pages, starting on page one.  It'll take me months but I'll do it.

Has anyone else done this?

The reference manual is my best friend I have spent many hours with the toilet and the manual. I copied mine but I need to get it in a book because mine takes up 7 binders. It will not be getting any literary awards anytime soon.

I worked through the floor structure dbx several times and it will not generate concrete I am going to work on it today.

  I looked at some videos that discussed platform heights, depths ect. The older videos that show how to do a concrete  second storysLabri House Design.plan do not seem to work with X6. I have a three story building first story is on a slab of course the next 2 story's as well will have 6" slab floors.. I changed floor materials ect but cannot get a slab floor to generate between floors. I have been working about 16 hours today . I know I am probably a little loopy but is there an easier way. attaching a sample floor plan.

For me it was a multi-window thing and it has nothing to do with graphics card or processor speed or capabilities. I am running 64 bit windows 8.1. I do not know what the issue is but I used my second monitor as my new boat anchor and it is all good now..

I seem to have been having an issue with X6 crashing my system.  It seems to be only happening while I am running a Raytrace but on other occasions just opening an item an modifying it.  Has anyone else had any issues with X6 crashing?

Yes I have the same problem does not crash my system just Chief and it does it a lot- mostly when I am doing an undo or trying to go back but it does it other times as well. Love the upgrade but because of this I am almost sorry I did.

As soon as I recoup from my new plotter.. Ill get one ...reviews are great.

The walls were easy I just made new wall defs. The Roof was a little bit more difficult. I used the delete surface tool, turned off  all auto framing and skimmed away surfaces. However every-time I would remove one portion and change something some of the surfaces would regenerate but leave my previous step unchanged. I have not figured out how Bill did the siding thing but I will. I just think for additions this is a nice view to show clients. I am fairly new to Chief but an expert Revit user. Chief is awesome though.  

If you need help in the future we can turn around construction docs in 3 days...I have an engineer on staff as well.

You were my super hero but I just reduced you to hero.  Anyway your probably right. I am going to try Perry' s suggestion if it does not work. I am going to the pub for a few hour and contemplate it over some lager. 

I want to show the framing of a dormer room I am adding on a house but show the rest of the exterior finished as it exists-in perspective view. Can anyone help a lost soul.
