  1. That was it. I must have deleted that floor layer during setup or something. So simple. thank you, works great now.
  2. Hey All- This plan has a rear open deck area that is giving me fits. I put the railing around and completed the room box. The room shows up but none of the framing does. I've deleted it a time or two and started over and the same thing happens so I'm assuming it's in the defaults for the deck or a layer not displaying. I turned on the "all on" layer set and nothing came up that was surprising but I could be wrong. Sooo. I started building it manually with posts, rim joists, decking and for whatever reason it deleted my rim joists but kept the decking pline solid and posts. Go figure! At this point I just need it fixed and learn from it instead of going another round in the ring. Ha Thanks- FERRARI_10-9.plan
  3. Perfect! Thank you very much.... Got it fixed. And you were right, it was a simple process. One that I have not done before but this has been sooo helpful. Again, thank you- JC
  4. Watched it. Does not answer the question I have. My roof has a 12/12 pitch for the first 3/4 of the roof plane and then curves out where the brekenridge plan has the entire roof plane arched. Not the same but thank you for the suggestion.
  5. Hey all- I read through some posts on this and watched the videos but I still haven't found a step by step process that helps me with manual roof lines with a curved roof. They show how to do it with an auto roof but that would delete all my manual work. I'm stuck and all I want is to curve the 1 roof plane above the entry on the front of the house to match the photo example. I'm so close but I'm just not doing something right. doah! Thank you in advance! DRAA_9-27.plan
  6. Yes, that's it. I have no idea how that line changed. I don't ever mess with it. Oh, well. Another lesson learned. Thank you. JC
  7. Hey Chop- No, I included the plan file in a zip along with the layout file and 2 picture files when I posted this new question. Thanks- J
  8. Hey all- In this plan file I have a cad detail sheet labeled Steel Beam 1 where all my steel details for this project are drawn and developed. I have sent all the details to the layout pages but there is one in particular that is giving me a goose egg. (Column detail on lower right of page 9) It looks fine in layout, but when I pull up the printer to send it to either pdf or directly to print (color or no color button selected) it grey's out. What am I doing wrong with this detail? All the other details are just fine and came from the same sheet in the plan. Hmmmm. I've included the plan and layout file and a few pictures of the issue. Thank you in advance- Justin DETAIL 1 PDF.pdf pefley plan file.zip PEFLEY.layout
  9. Chopsaw! Son of a gun you were right. I overlooked that little main roof plane attaching to the shed roof beside the entryway. Poof, they went away like they should. Thanks Chop and thanks everyone else for your suggestions. Have a great week!
  10. WOW! How is it possible that my machine shows the extra eaves and yours does not? I must have a layer turned on that you don't or something.
  11. Hey All- Ok, so this house I'm workin' on has 2 areas where the roof seems to have double roof eaves. The one that I want at the plate height and then one just up the roof plane from the one below that I want to keep. I tried rebuilding the roof planes, walls, attic walls etc. and nothing is removing them. I tried turning on all layers to see if there was a hidden wall or something. Nope. I know it's me, but I need some help removing them. Any suggestions? Included 2 pics and the plan. Thank you- PEFLEY_REMODEL_8-21.plan
  12. Seriously! I really appreciate everyone's "I can help" attitude on this forum. Time and again I get immediate help with my questions. Thank you a thousand time everyone! One day.......I too may be on the other side of this conversation. Can't wait. JC
  13. CHIEF16 DESIGNER--- That works like a charm! Great thinking outside the box like some of the other folks on here mentioned. Thank you all. JC
  14. Hey Chopsaw- Tried your flat top ramp idea. No go. It does not retain the earth like the original retaining wall. Maybe it can, I couldn't figure it out. Let me know if you know how to make that happen. That's a good one if it does. Thanks fella- JC
  15. I've been going back and forth with this today. Can't seem to figure it out. I've got my retaining wall laid out the way I want it around the outside of the driveway and I will need to add a 36" railing on top but every time I add it either the retaining wall goes away, etc. I'm close but I just can't figure it out. Thank you for your help in advance. Included the plan and a pic of the area in question. JC PEFLEY_REMODEL_8-7.plan
  16. Solver- That was it exactly! Thanks fella- JC
  17. Hey All- I have this remodel that I'm working on and I'm having issues regaining my perimeter walls on the main floor along the kitchen / breakfast / great room and new addition out the back. I don't know where the issue lies or whether it is on this level or on the basement level below but it's killin' me. I also have the terrain inside the downstairs envelope that was not there before either. All this started when I was moving the kitchen wall out 6' to the right. I included a picture of the outside perimeter and the plan. Thanks in advance. PEFLEY_REMODEL_8-4.plan
  18. That was it. Doah! What a bean-head I am. What was confusing me was the dbx that pops up saying not to set deck plank values etc. I'm happy to learn another key to workin' Chief. Again, thank you very much. JC
  19. Hey All- I have messed with this lousy deck on the back of this plan for about a good bit of time now and cannot for the life of me figure out what is stopping the deck from building. I'm pretty sure it's in the defaults but I just cannot figure it out and I know it's right in front of me....I'll be in the corner with the dunce cap on. Plan is attached. Thank you- J JAMISON_SPEC_1_7-19.plan
  20. You know. I hate that I couldn't think just that far outside the box to come up with that simple solution. Wow. Works great thank you very much guys.
  21. Eric- I hear ya. Manually. Like dshall said. Got it guys. Thank you-
  22. Thank you- I'm completely ignorant of this manual roof return process Question...How would I go about building one manually? I haven't done that yet. JC
  23. Hey All- I've got this plan almost to where I want it to be concerning the roof but these roof return issues are killing me. I have 3 false gables on the front of this house that have full gable roof eyebrows. Issue 1: I cannot for the life of me figure out where I can modify the material for the eyebrow without changing the material for the entire roof plane above. No option in dbx when I choose the wall. Issue 2: Yet again, I don't understand where to find the pitch change for the roof return. I open the wall dbx and click pitch change...nothing happens. What am I missing? Issue 3: I want the termination of each gable end to die into the main roof line like the example below only leaving a 4-6" height difference between the termination and the main roof fascia board. Issue 4: What in the world is making my full gable roof returns project out to the left side of the roof plane? Issue 5: I have no idea why the left gable does not look like the far right gable if I copied the right to the left side using the center gable as the axis? I'm going to state that there are probably wall and or roof plane issues conflicting with the proper function of the roof returns. They typically work fine "IF" I haven't screwed things up while drawing. I just don't know how and why they interact with one another on this particular plan. Thank you in advance... Included: Plan, Roof return issue pic, desired roof return example TVB-ORR.plan
  24. Good idea. That worked! As always... Thank you- J
