Have a potential client who has purchased a property with an existing 30x30 barn. Some pics below. There is an existing block footing, so a slab with appropriate vapor barrier can be poured inside. Going to need to frame out the stud bays and provide insulation/vapor barrier, etc. Has anybody done a plan for something like this and has some wisdom to share? Thanks

Have a client wanting to use Kraftmaid cabinets throughout and trying to figure out a simple way to make them the default for that drawing. Spent some time searching the forum but nothing seems to address this. I'm sure I missed it somewhere... Thanks.

Any idea if X12 will require more in the way of hardware (especially video) than what X11 needs? Got stuck upgrading my PC last year to get 11 to run. Hoping my current setup listed below will be adequate. I rolled the dice and paid for the upgrade. Here's hoping...

Yep, I go between my laptop screen and a 27-inch monitor. Undoubtedly that's when the dialog box shrunk enough to cause the scrollbar. Probably saved drawing that way and it stayed that way. Thanks.

See my previous post...

I feel like an idiot, scroll bar hid it. Too many late hours....

In X11, I can't edit the floor structure value, as I could in 10. There is no setting for it in the structure dbx. Don't know if I inadvertently deactivated it somehow or what. Any ideas? Thanks.

Default is 4" interior walls, then I make the plumbing walls and any others needing it as 6" walls. Same idea with text sizes, smaller rooms like closets and baths need smaller room labels, I'll just keep using the multi select and change things that way.
-
Yeah, that's what I've always done. Just thought there might be a quicker way to define several with an eyedropper kind of approach. I've been ctrl selecting walls as another way to do it. Probably the only ways really.
-
Is there an easy way to copy a wall type (say 6" wall to replace a 4" wall) along the lines of "format painter" in Office or something similar? Tried the eyedropper but that didn't work. Searched the forum but nothing there I could find anyway. Thanks.

Thanks guys. Downloaded and installed yesterday. I'll fire it up on the next complete new plan (after installing today's update, that is....). Some plans already going in X10 I'm just going to finish that way. Appreciate the positive comments, sounds like a pretty good release.

Thanks. Just not a big early adopter... I like to wait for things to cook a little.

Upgraded to X10 at the holidays, been working pretty well once I upgraded my laptop... Now that X11 has been out a little while, what's the verdict overall? Upgrade or wait if buggy? If I do upgrade, will X10 still be functional or is that disabled. i know I can only have one at a time activated, but want to make sure X10 will still be useable if 11 gets flaky on my PC. Thanks

After I rebooted my PC, View Toolbars worked this time. Go figure. Thanks.

Toolbars have disappeared and no matter what I've tried, can't get them back. When I click on View - Tool Pallet, it brings up an empty DB. I've done a repair, restore to defaults, etc. and no go. Gone through the process on the Chief KB. Hate to have to reinstall and re-download libraries, mfr catalogs, etc. Any ideas before I do that? Thanks.

Doing some exterior remodel renderings and need to show sign pole out front. Easy enough with polyline solids, but how do I show text or an image on the sign that will display in a 3D perspective view? I can place text in the 2D elevation view, but it doesn't show up in 3D. Searched the forum first, but didn't come up with anything. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks. Followed the split level info and got it worked out.

Working on a duplex that, due to terrain, the client wants one side 2' lower than the other. I've drawn one side figuring to duplicate, mirror and lower. Got the first two done ok, but can't seem to lower the one side. I have it copied over to the side so I can lower it independently then move it back over using point to point at a common corner. Tried edit area all floors then move in the Z axis, no luck. Also tried moving the foundation first via move z axis, then main floor, still not working. Any ideas? Thanks as always.

A client wants this style of curved fascia on all their gable ends. Before I get too much into it, is there a simple and direct way to do this? I've searched around some and can't really find anything specific on this. I'm sure I just missed it or didn't use the right terminology.Any help is appreciated. Thanks. CURVED FASCIA.pdf

Client is wanting a fence panel like the attached. I looked thru the fencing and bonus stuff, but didn't see anything really matching up, unless I just overlooked it. Does someone out there have something similar they'd like to share or sell? Thanks.
