  1. Hi Guys, I'm attaching my floorplan to view and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how I could do it better please? I'm restricted to the rectangular border around it. Any ideas would be most welcome. I'm going to put the laundry and more bedrooms down on the lower floor. I haven't done all the doors and windows properly yet as I'm just trying to work on the room layout at the moment. Thanks Coralie Eagles View.plan
  2. AHA! Thanks Glenn. that did it. I was just so confused. I've never had to go around and change the walls like that before. Whenever I've derived a floor from the one below it has just been automatic. Sorry to have been such a pain in the bum. Thanks 7654321, I will keep that in mind. It seems to have resolved itself now.
  3. I'm really sorry, but it didn't work for me. I'm attaching 2 pics of the structure and the foundation. Can you please tell me what I need to do with them? I've made a mistake somewhere and I can't figure it out. Thanks, but I don't know how to do that either.
  4. I can't fix it. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. These walls are exactly the same as the other walls on the same level, but the gap won't go. I tried building the exact same building in x8 and had no problem with gaps. None of the parameters for hanging the floor platform above on wall etc, are checked in the x8 version. Is this something new for x9 that you have to go around and fix the structures of the walls like this? Attached is a pic of the wall for the gappy ones and they are exactly the same as the other ones that are working. I also tried unchecking the sill plate and making it 0, but that didn't work either. I just don't know what to do next. I must be missing something. Sorry to be such a pain. Rustic Lodge.plan
  5. I went around and did both of the above suggestions to all the walls, but I still have problems with the 2 front walls. I'm not sure what to do next. I have attached the plan. Thanks Coralie Rustic Lodge.plan
  6. Hi Alaskan_Son, I went around and changed them all to what you suggested. What does "building too close" mean? Hi CJSpud, I went around and changed all the wall sill to 0 height, but I don't know where to find the uncheck display/build of the sill plate bit. This is really strange. Normally I just build a new floor using the "derive..from floor below option" and it's good to go. Thanks Guys for all your help. Cheers and thanks Coralie
  7. Hi Solver. Thanks for the tip. It worked for the foundation and the 1st floor but not for the 2nd floor. Rustic Lodge.plan
  8. Hi. I had a look at my foundation in 3D view and it doesn't seem to be aligning with the floor above. There are gaps between the floors. I used the Build>Foundation tool and derived it from the 1st floor plan, but something is wrong. I am attaching my plan if anyone can help me. Thanks. Rustic Lodge.plan
  9. Yay! I finally got it. Thanks for all your help. I'm quite exhausted now and am off to have a Nana nap. Cheers Chopsaw and thanks again..
  10. Didn't work for me. I still have that corkwood ceiling. I put in all of your measurements and made the room a porch with a ceiling.
  11. Is there a way to put a ceiling over that lower deck now? I tried to make it a porch, but it wouldn't work.
  12. Aha. I will try and remember that. Thanks.
  13. Hmmm. I don't quite understand. Is there a reason why the floor height of the deck and the room are different? I mean. I would have thought to make the floor height of the deck the same as the room, but it doesn't match. Is this a building thing?
  14. Chopsaw, I was wondering how you figured out the height of the deck, because if I go around and change the rooms, it isn't level with the floor anymore?
  15. Thanks. I just wasn't sure if the rooms were high enough. Cheers
  16. thanks Chopsaw. That fixed it. I was just wondering if you thought the basement rooms were the right height too?
  17. Thanks Chopsaw. That got the deck going. Yes, things are progressing. it's like one step forward two back for me though. I got the deck built but it isn't the same height as the floor in the rooms. Can't figure out what is wrong. If you go to the room with the sliding door and lokk out, you will see the different level. I don't know how to fix this. I don't find the 3D crashing on me. I have got a lot of stuff in it though. Cheers and thans Coralie
  18. Hi. My lower deck for the basement won't generate in 3D view. Something is wrong with my plan and I don't know what it is. Could someone help me with this please? Thanks Coralie Mountain_Starbasement.plan
  19. OMG! I'm such a dope of course 100 inches = 8'4". Definitely having a blonde moment there. GAH!
  20. That the stem walls are both 100 inches and 8'4" at the same time. I 'm not sure if I've got the heights of my rooms right and the stem walls as well, because I put in 2440 height for rooms when I built the stem walls but they came out at 2060 when I checked it, so as a reulst I'm confused about how to build it. I thought when I put in 2440 the rooms would be that too. I know I'm missing something.
  21. Hi Guys. I was hoping someone could check the foundation and basement of my plan please. I have tried to follow the instructions for creating a walkout basement on Chief but I find it really confusing - especially this part - "Next, select Build> Floor> Build Foundation to create a basement level with stem walls of at least 100 inches (8 feet plus 4 inches for the foundation slab)." I just don't understand what they mean here, so I've muddled through it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers and thanks Coralie Mountain Starbasement.plan
  22. Thanks for the plan Solver. Looks great. I will have a go at it. Cheers and thanks again.
  23. Many thanks to Glenn who spent some time with me on Skype this morning. I've learned a lot. Thanks to all you guys for your help and ideas too. I think I'm on my way with it now. Cheers and thanks.
  24. Hello Chopsaw. I've tried to copy without much success. I have x9 if you wish to post the plan for me. Thanks.
