  1. I am having issues with a tremendous lag in entering and editing text in the OIB's. Rich text boxes seem fine.
  2. I get those lines when I increase the pixel size greater than the screen resolution. I think it is a bug in PBR. The quality of PBR is wholly dependent on lighting and lights (I believe). I also run all my renderings through photoshop or lightroom to get rid of the yellow cast and color correct.
  3. Make sure you have created a terrain perimeter... I spent several hours trying to figure that out once. Interesting, today I actually used the data from a survey in a DWG and imported to CA for the first time. I spent 2 hours trying to figure out why the client had a sink hole in their front yard. I had forgot to delete my temporary elevation markers I had used before I got the survey. Besides that little snafu, a great success.
  4. Thanks, I think this could get cumbersome with more than one set of stairs.
  5. The stair Object in plan has all the necessary variables, it just appears you can not locate the stairs in section?!?
  6. Can you fill me in on a global variable.....and how to assign it. If it gets too complicated they work just fine on the plan, not ideal, but they work. stairswjm.json
  7. I think I am out of luck, but.... Two issues with stairs and sections. I have written a few macros I use in the plans for stair information, however I am unable to locate the stair in section view. It would make more sense to have this information on the section. If I cut the section through the stair, I am able to dimension treads and risers, i.e. Chief can locate the objects and locate the landing. If I pull the section away and the stairs get drawn in "elevation", the only thing Chief will locate is the top of the landing. I have to place points and adjust the distance to get the correct dimension for treads and risers. Chief is however able to locate casing in this same view. Hoping I am wrong and someone knows a workaround......
  8. Finally got these drawings in. Looks like it will be part cabinet with a few extra pieces...
  9. Yes I did and looking forward to getting in there to see what you did. It did help with figuring out how to get the outside toe kick in the proper location and a different material. I probably will do this cabinet in sketchup, however pictures from the store show the inside as 3 straight pieces. I need to get the corporate people to nail down some inconsistencies before I do the rest of the cabinets. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!!
  10. I put this together with polyline solids as a place holder until I get the specs. Is it possible to do rounded cabinets? I know I can build it either in Sketchup or CA with parts and pieces but am curious if this is possible.
  11. I tried to make it from cabinet tools, but there where 2 things a cabinet will not do as in my original post. Blocking it works perfect, and I can draw 2d over it before I block it to get the correct look. Thank you!!
  12. When converting to symbol, it does not give the option of "cabinet", it does have "cabinet door/drawer". I put the symbol in the drawing and added a line to try and make a block, and that does not work either.
  13. I am aware of that. You always ask where a plan file is, so I included one.....
  14. I have had to make a few cabinet symbols using solids, etc as I could not get what I needed with cabinet options. I could not Get a flush toe kick with a different material Exterior and interior laminate are different. I had to create a 1/16" layer on inside. Now that I have several symbols I can not assign them to show up in the cabinet schedule, which is they need to be. 36 Beverage Drop In Cabinet.plan
  15. That worked well, however, I like the way your turned out with the narrower line weight for the ashed line. I will try to duplicate that process.
  16. Only way I could do that was to change the layer linestyle and that made all the lines dashed.I think may be an "it is was it is" situation.
  17. With all the great help on this forum I have started building parts for a commercial job I am working on. I created the 2D Block and added it to the symbol and it changed my dashed lines to solid. Is there anyway around this. The dashed lines are for a wall below so it is kind of important in plan view. The whole piece is a prefab so would like to keep it that way. I could just model the top part and put a kneewall under, but that defeats the purpose. 60 Prefab Wall with Cap.plan
  18. I set up a rather extensive layout template that has most everything I may need for a project and find it quicker to delete a page or item I do not need rather than add it later.
  19. I know I have seen previous discussions on this but I was able to label the length of a polyline with %perimeter% in the label. Came in very handy for fire egress routes.
  20. Curious as to where Eric and Mick are located...?
  21. I have been doing house plans since I was 16, and headers always had a 1/2" gap between them and they used to fill that gap with plywood (glued and nailed). No top or bottom except for the cripple studs. I walked a few sites yesterday and the headers were flush on both sides here in Georgia. The way Chief is doing the headers is what I am used to seeing for a very long time.
  22. Fixed it. It was an X9 plan I opened in X10 and what I had to do was rebuild the wall framing and presto.....
