Scott is correct about the left inverted truss, I think I found it on 3rd floor and deleted. Truss on right only way to make disappear is to turn of wall framing layer because,,,,,,,,, I COULD NOT FIND IT. Challenge

Climate could be issue, in cold areas it is difficult to keep the underneath "conditioned" for the cold. Give Eric a point for getting you back on track.

You can control siding height with pony wall or wall material region or polysolid or,,,,,,,,,,, nothing is a one click and that's the trick!!! lol

It would pass code in Michigan because or minimum is 36" CLEAR opening, no obstructions allowed.

Alaskan Son & GlennW are the top in understanding the function of the program and the programing with in the software,,,,,,,,,, as far as understanding construction methods and actual building of a structure is another category all together. I have been building what I design in Chief since 1994 with version 2.0 so I understand construction methods and yet I see things on this forum that TERRIBLE in design criteria and they are skilled with Chief. It doesn't matter who is best because so many here with skills to help out others.

Contractor and I say that with a pain in my side because that's what I do!!!!!! Plans are correct, plan review approved plans and permits pulled with correct design.

I have a layer set for my ceilings, I have grid layouts and tile saved in library. Of course it requires a little work for each project but it all shows in 3d.

Yes you can manually draw the roof planes. Make sure before you start that all exterior walls are in correct location. This would be time consuming for a roof expert and a very difficult one for you to learn roofs on. With those dormers you will need to learn to use "hole in roof" process; join roof planes tool; understand fascia and roof baseline heights. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress. 

When you aligned walls it stopped the drywall layer that was imposing on your second floor in orig post pic.

Looks like drywall and if it is the railing is the guilty party. Select railing and slide it towards exterior of building.

Your split level "entry" needs to be a room definition with adjustments made in the structure tab.

Open your X3 plan file in X9 and go!!! You're not going to mess up X9 and it will behave fine when working on a X3 file.
