  5. Having a challenge with window & door labels showing thru the house, i.e., window labels from west side show up on east elevation also.....for example... Anybody have this problem & find fix?
  6. Looking to sub out finalization of my plans. San Francisco Bay Area, North. Fine, working with someone out of the area, but it needs to work..... Currently running X8 I'm good with getting everything to concept-approved stage. Mostly single family residential, new, addition & remodel. Getting bogged down in completion, i.e., adding notes, details, making sure everything is pretty, on the Layouts, while I should be meeting with new clients who I'm turning away right now. Need someone who can take my plans, layout templates, details, and notes & finish out for me, according to my standards. I've got a certain way I do it & I'm hoping to find someone willing to do it this way. Been real small business, want to keep it that way, but also tired of turning away work, while trying to meet schedule deadlines.
  7. Trying out the "save as pdf" option....will let you know. Thanks!
  8. Problem, After printing to pdf w/ pdf995 print driver, I reviewed the plan set. Strange varying line weight, half-way through elevation, or plan views, the line weight shifts...... Thought it was something having to do with print driver, so upgraded to most recent. (No change) I've got quite a number of active line drawings sent to layout. Is it just too much for chief? Has anyone else experienced/found a fix, for this? Thanks in advance, Cris
  9. Thanks David. We'll see if that works. Cris Still having difficulty, after sender says he exported for Autocad 2000. Not sure if he heeded the instruction to export from model space. I have inquired. I'm attaching file here. Can you open it? 2359-GRADING DESIGN EXPORT acad2000 3-10-17.dwg
  10. Thanks David. We'll see if that works. Cris
  11. Hi, Having difficulty importing dwg from autocad Which versions of autocad are compatible with X8?
  12. Got it! Used option in standard window dialogue. Gothic Arch...was able to reflect the arch vertically. I couldn't cut a flat at the bottom, but it came out very cool. My client will love it. Thanks again for all the help. Cris
  13. Oooohh!.....rushes off to play with his new toy... I'm thinking this'll do 'er. Thanks guys! Cris
  14. Unless I'm unaware of something, you're not able to rotate windows. What am I missing?
  15. So, I was able to create an odd shaped window. and I can create molding polyline to follow my custom shape. I'm not sure if there's a way to get the program to build the wall to suit the odd shape. I get only a rectangular opening, which it seems I will need to fill around my window with Polyline solids to match wall materials. I'm having a little difficulty with generating the window symbol correctly, in that the Glass portion which I'm creating ends up sticking out of the wall and appears to be about 6" thick. I'm sure there's an offset somewhere that I'm missing..... Any help? I think if I can take care of the offset issue, I should be able to work around the program's limitations. Thanks again for your advice. Cris
  16. I can create a symbol from a 3-D object & call it a window.....that's cool. I can't seem to create the window, while at the same time, requiring the wall to follow my window profile. I've not spent time learning to create symbols. Before I spend more time headed this direction, will Chief Architect allow me to do this? I need to be able to create an odd shaped window, using spline tool, arcs, straight edges, at the top, bottom or sides of the window. Is this a possibility? Super busy right now & don't have much time to waste. Thanks for all your helpful comments. Cris
  17. Hey, Thanks. I suppose that'll be my option if I can't make the actual windows fit the circle.
  18. Ha, got this far (see attachment) Created symbol.....guess it's time that I actually learn how to do this part properly. Now to figure the proper molding techniques. Gracias.
  19. Image of what I'm trying to do is attached.
