  1. Howdy, The bulk of my career has been spent working in Northern California. (Residential) I have standardized Notes sheet, as well as notes for paste up on various different plan sheets. I recently relocated to Idaho, and have not had time to update these notes to suit my new state. If someone has notes which they use for this locale, which they'd be willing to share, or I'd happily purchase a copy. Please let me know. Thanks, Cris (208)-597-7321
  2. Thanks, all. Gonna give this one a shot: KODAK IMOUSE Q40 Pretty simple and straight forward. Here's hoping.
  3. Been using Logitech Trackman Trackball mouse for the last 20 years. I just wish that I could find this mouse without the cord.
  4. Many times, deck designs need newel posts which are mounted to the exterior face of the Rim joist. My details show this. I cannot create my deck plan this way though. I'd like the option to offset the entire rail system, not just the newels. This is, more often than not, the method which I use for my deck rails. I have suggested this in the past, but am unaware of any resolution. Has anyone come up with an easy work-around? Ideas? Thanks!
  5. Howdy, I currently run ASUS ROG Strix Laptop, which I've had for a couple years now. Thinking it's time for a refresh. I have not had one issue with this machine. It has been awesome....but the graphics handler could use updating. I was looking at the most current version of what I have....it still looks great. I'd like to hear what others think, as this is my primary workhorse. I work from home/car/coffee shop....portability is a must, so I won't be going back to stationary system. Thoughts? Thanks!

  17. Hi, I'm working as designer for California based company, and am in need of capable Chief user to complete my approved concept drawings. All, or mostly all single family residential projects. Wood Frame construction. I have standard template for my jobs, and the process is pretty simple and straightforward for someone familiar with Chief. 18. Heh...yep...I figured out a way to mount a table to the top of my camera tripod. Works great. People go, "Ooh!" too. Think I found something in magic plan for apple or android devices... Just downloaded it to give it a spin. Thanks!
  19. Hi, I'm working more remotely these days, and have had some guys help in gathering dimensions and property information. While I've become practiced in sketching out the layout of a typical 2000sf house, I guess it does take a little practice. Trying to make this process simpler, I'm looking to see whether anyone could suggest easy, straightforward software which will run on a tablet or i-pad, with which someone could easily draw walls, add windows and doors, pull dimensions....doesn't have to be fancy, just able to record accurate dimensions....thinking via touchscreen would be best.... Suggestions which don't require much of a learning curve? Thanks!
  20. Hi, Has anyone had difficulty with Elevation view not showing various framing members? I've had this difficulty now, across multiple plans. Framing members visible in Camera view are not visible in Elevation View. Yes, I do have the framing members selected to display in Elevation. ;) Thanks! Cris
