Graham, thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. Your raytrace with the added lighting looks fantastic. How long did it take to generate, 30 mins or more?

Here is my raytrace with your settings. Much better. I will experiment with the image properties...
Thanks!

I am posting the pictures as they appear in my program. Can you post a quick raytrace and final render with shadows created with your program?

Why am I getting light bleed above the wall cabinets when I raytrace?

Thanks, Wendy. I never had to deal with this in my old program "9.5" ?

The wall on the left side of the stairs does not "stop" at the stairs when I move it?

It is going to take some time to adjust to X-6 after using 9.5 for the last 12 years. I have the x-7 upgrade in my locker but am hesitant to load it until all the "bugs" are worked out of it...

Thank you Joe for your contributions to the forum!

It looks like the program is having problems auto saving a copy of the file when you open it.
It looks like a very strange file name. Maybe your file name is too long?
Maybe your hard disk is almost full?
You were right. I shortened the file name and the error message has disappeared.
Thanks, Arthur

Thanks for the reply, Lew. Must be serious huh, Doc? When a seasoned chief user refers me to CA tech makes me a little nervous...

Check your file sizes. If they are big....like 500mg+, you have the wrong codec set. For some reason the program comes by default set to IYUV. This needs to be changed to "XVID" under Preferences>Render>Codec options. You may have to download and install the XVID codec. Just google and install.
Once you use that I can make a 2min walk-through that is only about 60mb.
They should make this more clear for people and I found it by accident somehow. I used to get 1gb vids and have to convert with Microsoft movie maker to get them to play.
This worked! Thank you!
I tried the convert video download but the resulting conversion was not of the same viewing quality. Thanks to all...

Thanks, Griffin. Looks interesting... I was hoping there was within CA a way to resize pics when exporting.
