Using the shelf and rod in Chief. It does not wrap like walls. Each side is separate but do not 45? How to achieve a u shaped closet shelf and rod?

I am using a laptop. The active layer display with just 3 columns turned on is taking 1//3 of my window. I have tryed to resize it but it won't. What is the key to getting it smaller?

I am new to CA. Trying to figure out how to draw a roof with eves/facia or whatever that is under the roof. Is there a name for that and do you accomplish that with a big fascia or wall or what?
