  1. Howdy,

I've been monkeying around with this issue for many hours trying to figure out what magic is needed to get it to work. Found a couple of related posts on the forum but I haven't gotten there yet.

So I have a gabled manual roof that needs a rake wall and I just can't get it to build. Ultimately I think the issue is that this rake wall doesn't sit on any wall in the house. I've tried creating attic walls, but I can't get those walls to extend down past the 2nd floor ceiling and close up the gaps below (except somehow I did it in the kid's bedroom by following a trick I found on a forum post, but for some reason didn't translate to other walls??) Attached is the plan and screenshots. The construction line shown in the plan images (one image is the 2nd floor, the other is the attic) is where I need the rake wall to sit. You can see it cuts through unfinished space, a bathroom, and a bedroom. Thanks in advance!

  2. Hello fellow Chief users,

This is my first post. I'm working on my very first project in Chief Architect (I'm a converted Sketchup user :P), and will likely be peppering you fine people with all kinds of questions. I hope I can become a Jedi at this tool at some point to help out the community. Thanks in advance!

You'll see in the attached images I have a brick water table that I made using a pony wall. You can also see on either side of the windows I have a brick wall cap that is supposed to run the length of the wall at 24" high. It appears when I add exterior casing to my windows the casing at the bottom ends up cutting into my water table, removing the brick wall cap that I want. I still want the window casings on the sides and on top of the window, but I'd like to remove the casing at the bottom so my cap doesn't get clipped. Is there a trick to pull this off?

    Thanks!
