  11. Hello, Thank you for the question about the Trousdale sample plan. You can download this plan from our website and open it in a Chief Architect product. You are free to use the plan as inspiration for your own project. This house was used on the product packaging for one of our Home Designer products. A full plan set was not created for this sample and it was created by Chief Architect staff from a stock photograph. The best we can do to help you is provide you with the sample plan so that you can open it in one of our products. A zip file of this plan is attached to this post and I have attached an image so you can see what the floor plan looks like. I hope this helps.   13. Can I install the software on more than one computer? How do I switch computers? Chief Architect programs can be installed on multiple computers for personal use, but only one computer can be active at a time. Learn how to switch between computers in our Knowledge Base article. What type of computer do I need to run Chief Architect? Chief Architect is both Mac and PC compatible. What are the limitations and how long does it last? Yes. The Chief Architect Trial Version has all of the same tools and features as the paid version with the exception of saving, printing, exporting, and virtual tours. The trial version does not expire. What training resources are available for learning to use the software? Chief Architect Software is known for being easy to use and having a very low learning curve. There are many training resources to aid in learning the software. All of the free resources are available with the trial. The optional backup USB is a memory stick/thumb drive that contains a copy of the software installer and core library content. The backup USB provides a long term option for installing the software should you need it in the future. The USB may be a good option for installing the software if your internet service is slow. I use specific manufacturers in my designs, will they be available in Chief Architect? The Chief Architect 3D Library offers catalog downloads of both manufacturer specific and generic content. You can also import 3D objects, materials and colors into Chief Architect from third-party sources including directly from manufacturer’s websites if they are available. What is Support and Software Assurance (SSA)? Support and Software Assurance (SSA) includes the following services: upgrades, tech support, catalog downloads, and discounts on additional licenses & select training. SSA is included for 1 year with new license purchases and version upgrades. SSA can be renewed annually (optional) and is the most economical way to stay current with the software. What is the difference between the Premier and Interiors products? Chief Architect Premier is for full residential or light commercial design and includes all of the features of the Interiors product. The Interiors product was created specifically for kitchens, baths, and interior design—everything inside the house. Structural components such as framing and exterior tools such as terrain, decks, and lanscaping are excluded from the Interiors product. The outright purchase option is a one-time payment for the software license. The rental option allows you to rent monthly as-needed or rent-to-own. See our Rental FAQ for more details. What happens once I purchase a license? If you are purchasing a new license or rental, your order is processed immediately and you receive an email with instructions on how to log into your online account and download the software. If you are purchasing an upgrade or additional license, your order is subject to existing license verification. These orders are processed within one business day. Once the order is verified and processed, you will receive a confirmation email notifying you that your software is available in your online account. How does upgrading to the newest version work? If your SSA is active upgrades are included at no additional charge. If your SSA is expired you can purchase an upgrade to the newest version, which includes one year of SSA.
