My brain! Your question makes me believe I must be missing something obvious.

Not sure what that would do. I need to copy an old plan into a new template.

Hello, I have continually updated (exported) my layers, defaults, etc and imported them into older jobs where I am using the older plan for a new job. However, there are things I have done with my .plan template (always fine tuning) that have other things I would like to have for a new drawing. I even tried to copy the plan floor to paste into a new plan, but that does not work. When I draw condos, I use an existing plan, copy and rename for a new drawing. It would be nice as I learn more and fine tune things to have those things available. What do others do to accomplish this? https://www.loom.com/share/57602a5852f14e4ba4272bf383018a5a

Here is a final update on what I did... https://www.loom.com/share/2583d3cb491c44c5b3f2016d66fb9d41

So I think I am all back to working again, but again, can anyone else verify that FormatterHeightSixteenths does in fact show obj.depth. I changed it to obj.height and now it is working.
-
And now it is working... Chief may want to look into this. Maybe Height and Depth give the same result, but something went wrong only by me making a copy of the formattedHeightSixteenths macro
-
I did not touch this, but noticed that FormatterDepthSixteenths and FormatterHeightSixteenths have the same code for obj.depth. So I did changed the FormatterHeightSixteenths to obj.height and now it gives me a valid number in the Expanded Macro Value field.
-
Hmmm Now many are back showing valid
-
It seems something might be wrong with the height as the width works. But when I look at the macro formatting it looks the same other than width vs depth

Hello, Maybe someone can help me on this. I'm hoping I didn't break anything... https://www.loom.com/share/ae809a120e45408aac103b43353b9b2f Thank you, Steve

Showing sinks in the Plan View with an overlay layer set
Steve_Nyhof replied to Steve_Nyhof's topic in General Q & A
I'm sure someone has figured this out already, but turning the cabinet base layer on and setting the line to blank shows the sinks. You still need to use the point to point dimensions, but now I have the sinks and other fixtures all showing up in my Plan View overlay layer. -

See video below. My Fixtures, Interior is set on to show these details in my foundations where I am planning a slab foundation. I like to show and dimension these fixtures so that all the plumbing is installed in the right plan per the main floor plan view overlaying the foundation. https://www.loom.com/share/5a19955b67a64998af3640626365bc86 A sink by itself is set to Fixtures, Interior, but once in a cabinet it changes to CAD, Default Thank you, Steve -
Setup Default Views from .plan to .layout
Steve_Nyhof replied to Steve_Nyhof's topic in Tips & Techniques
Very interesting. I would not be interested in the same number of characters. For now it is working for me as I have laid out and seems to be straight forward for me. Download loom and do a video of your process. I am also interested in greater automation, but it sounds like I would be restricted to name length and having to copy an existing plan to a new plan. I am always updating my .plan and .layout templates tweak by tweak.- 18 replies

I think I have things back in place - maybe a little different, but I am still getting errors when trying to load from the Configurations tab
-
I was able to change the .bak file and it loaded. I will see how this goes. Seems I need to reset this all back up - hmmm

My computer crashed while Chief was open and now there is no toolbars. I reset it and got my list back, but it still is not allowing me to load my toolbars from the list. Any ideas?
