David,
Thanks for taking the time to look into my issue.
- The rafter poking down into the bathroom: yes, I can ignore it by turning off roof rafters in camera view, but I'm concerned that there is still a problem with that particular rafter; as I said in my original message "rafter that isn't cut as the adjoining rafters are"
- Image 2 shows different colors for the wall in PBR: interesting that you don't have the same issue with X14, maybe a driver issue on my part? But my gut feeling, as I've seen this before, is that CA is struggling to generate that view because it gets confused by some aspect of that wall.
My main issue though is the one depicted by images 3 and 4 (south wall of bedroom over the garage with a blue wall).

I've struggled for hours to figure what's wrong with a particular wall (plan attached).
The attached images give a clue that something is wrong. Image 3 shows that the front to back wall doesn't meet the 90° front wall although it appears to do so in plan view (attic level). Image 2 shows different colors for the wall in PBR even though they are the same (CA is not happy about something for sure). Images 1 & 5 show a rafter that isn't cut as the adjoining rafters are. Image 4 is a PBR from the outside.
Any help/hint would be appreciated.

Would you say the high resolution grass in the bonus library could be a problem? How would one determine the resulting poly count when applying this material?
-
Just as test, eliminate the backdrop with sunlight on.
-
Same behavior in Standard view as well as PBR?
-
Have you tried downloading it as a Collada .dae file which you could import into CA?
Worked for me. See attached.

If you hover over the symbol in the used column you should get a pop-up hint that tells you where the layer is being used.
Both phantom layers are + and show 'used in plan' as every other +.
Where else can I go 'deeper down' to find the culprit(s) ?

Also check to make sure you haven't assigned that layer to something in the defaults.
That was a long process to go through every default, but I did: nothing.

You can't delete System Layers ( or accidentally renamed System Layers ) check in the ALDO to see if it has an S in the USED Column.
M.
Right. Both phantom layers are +. So just to be sure, I reset the layer names. No joy.

Turn all layers off except the one you want to delete. Hit F6 to show what ever it is that is hiding on that layer. Delete the offending object then you should be able to delete the layer.
That's basically what I did using Ctl-A then Del. Tried again with F6, just in case, empty workspace, still can't delete layer.
-
I have a layer in a set for which I deleted all objects. I wanted to delete the layer, but the button is still greyed out. With only that layer visible, I tried Ctl-a and Del, but there appears to be a phantom object remaining in that layer.
Is there any way to find out which objects are assigned to a layer?

Too bad this thread got down to trying to fix the original OP's second post on a possible bug.
I absolutely recognize the welcome additions to X14. But is it "one of the best version updates in a long time" as stated in another post? I guess it depends on the reasons you use CA.
Personally, I use a lot of the visualization facilities of CA on my projects. With the announcement of X14, not one item on 3D rendering (except for a few walkthrough novelties). Do PBR and RTRT need love? That's my hate/wish.

Bonjour Danielle,
Attached is a capture (PBR, untiled 1) of the very same room as in your picture (minus some materials missing). No changes to your plan except I toggled Sunlight to avoid the effort of correcting the blueish tint produced by your backdrop. No bleeding for me.
Something to check
- there is at least one anomalie in the ceiling (see untitled 2)
- the crown moldings of the bathroom cabinet protrude through the roof (see untitled 3).
There are other issues with this plan. I mention those that may have an impact on your rendering.

this is a Type of Basement Floor we use up here in Canada.
Essentially, it's a Crawlspace as your basement floor construction with Wood Joist framing or Open-Web floor trusses, instead on Slab on compacted fills.
makes warmer floor for cold climate.
Just curious. Which area in Canada uses this?

Show us the complete dialog window. Is that item locked? Or are there more than one horizontal door?

That is not a default it is simply an " Angular Dimension ".
Got it, finally, thanks.

Do you mean the " 15.0° " ? There was no default until X13. Now you can choose.
I meant just the ability to show an angle, regardless of the format.
-
Great looking, thanks. Any chances of making that set customizable as for the label for the individual recyclables (Portuguese, English, French ...)? Not obvious how you would do that, but doesn't hurt to ask.
-
@Chopsaw What default setting is required to show the initial angle when you select the CAD?
-
While in physically based camera view, opening a dialog box and immediately hitting 'cancel' triggers the remodeling of the 3D view which in my case takes about 10 seconds on most (elaborate) plans. This problem is not apparent in standard view.
I often find the need to open an element of a plan in camera view simply to verify, not change, some setting. 10 seconds a pop doesn't help productivity. I would think it would be easy to implement not rebuilding the 3D view if no change has occurred.

Sliding windows and doors will have the opening indicators turned on by default if you are using the template plan that ships with X13.
If you migrated your template plans forward, or you are bringing in a plan that started in an earlier version, they will be off by default. This was done so that plans would not change unexpectedly when you opened them in X13.
If you would like to show the opening indicators for sliding doors and windows for your legacy plans or templates, just turn them on in your door and window defaults. Keep in mind that you can also group select and edit your defaults if you would like to turn them on for more than one at a time.
You should normally keep the windows and doors that are placed in your plans set to "use default" unless you need to override them for some kind of special situation.
Yes, I did migrate from earlier templates. Thanks for the heads up.

If one really wants to have all the openings indicated by default, not just windows but also doors interior and exterior (sliding, pocket, etc.), one needs to go into each of these defaults. My point is that theer's no global setting that applies to any type of opening.
