  1. so i have a loft area in my tiny home and i have the walls stopping below. however, even after remaking the roof, the ceiling acts as if the walls are ballooning thru. how can i make the drywall remove the gaps in the ceiling? thanks! cant find anything on this issue.

    11x17

does chief have an 11x17 border template already made to use? if so, can you tell me how to access it? thanks i have a tiny home and the 24x36 is way too big for 1/4"=1'-0" scale
  3. was just needing some guidance on auto dims and running dims. when they overlap it's all one entity. trying to learn what im doing wrong to seperate them.
  4. oh my gosh, im so STUPID. thanks that helped alot.
  5. thanks for the reply! where in the library is that type door located? i must be typing in the wrong name in the search.
  6. anyone know where i can find something similar to the slider attachment? i do not see anything in the library or 3d chief library.
  7. i did say that...i input it in the wrong spot.
  8. The floor height of the home and decks are 30" above grade. When i made the carport it wanted to set the slab at the floor height as i showed.
  9. It was the bold text that sounded demanding to post the plan file. Lol. Basically my fix was indeed to give a negative value for the slab. The railing command still gives me trouble from time to time when i make a space. Im working on the roof now. I really dont like additions because you do your best to draw the existing home and then tie in everything. In this case the client wants the screened porch and the carport.
  10. Guys i have figured this whole software out on my own. I only come here when it gets tricky. So i hear what you are saying. I watched the tutorials a year before i even bought the product and are self taught and already did several projects. Everyone else understood what i asked. I dont need to be told to watch a tutorial or this or that. No one else comes across that way on the forums is all im saying. But thanks for the help, i figured it out from a few others on this thread.
  11. Solver how about you dont comment on my stuff anymore. With the few posts ive made since december you comment in a way that is condescending or say to watch a tutorial. I wont POST THE PLAN FILE cause i figured it out from the other helpful fellows. I don't care how much you think you know about CA or how long you been on the forums.
  12. Yes, i tried the -26 last night and it wouldnt budge. I figured dropping it to -26 and adding 30" to the ceiling height would work but it didnt.
  13. Chopsaw understood. I used the railing tool to make the carport and its posts. The slab, as you can see, is not sitting on the terrain. There will be stairs to walk down to the carport slab from the double doors.
  14. something that should be so easy is driving me nuts. the screened porch has a floor height of 30" above terrain (in line with exterior deck) and a ceiling height of 8'. i use the deck rail tool to make my carport to walk down onto. but as you can see it won't sit on terrain. what floor height pulls this down so i can move onto my roof? thanks guys. p.s. i have this space listed as garage, patio, porch and can't get it to sit flush on the earth.
  15. didnt i read somewhere that recent buyers of X10 will get the free upgrade to X11. i bought mine in the very last part of december 2018.
  16. And thanks kbird. You were a huge help.
  17. yes i have watched many tutorials on youtube. but nothing that would show this. i started watching the online vids about a year before i even was able to purchase this.
  18. so, i realized when i went to "build framing", my exterior walls would not frame. i had to change from ICF-stucco (cinder block) and stone to stucco-4 for the upper and frame 3 1/2 for the pony wall. now i can't find an option for the stone i want the pony wall to be. any suggestions on how to complete this? second pic shows what material i want the lower wall to be but like i said, it was using the icf material which wont frame.
  19. eyedropper tool worked so easy........quick and fast. i tabbed on the mulled unit and it worked too.

  21. and i assume the signature is recommended so others can tell what version i'm on and what computer setup i have?
  22. hello everyone, i am new to chief and finding it very easy to learn. i have had no problems figuring out object colors. however, can anyone tell me how to change entryway colors. under materials it doesn't give me the option like everything else does. just the trim and casing colors. i need it burnt red to match the home. see below....thanks
