Creating roof plane on 1st floor...goes to the 2nd floor

Sorrry wrong file Ashley reener.plan -
I'm using the file you sent to me.

I'd don't have a lot of money but realize I need some training. I just worry that I'll spend money and then just go over the things I may already know. I'd like to learn the things I don't already know. lol

Thank you for the video!! I originally had CA autobuild the roof but was sucked into modifying the planes because that v shaped intersection of the walls was far too big as you can see in the attached screen shot from ACAD. So when I get it closer to that size, the roofs overlap.
-
There are only 2 roof pitches...maybe one change on me. No unusual technique. Just trying to make roof plane edged connect. The baseline issue is probably my biggest problem. Also changing an edge angle and having the entire plane move instead of the line whose angle I'm trying to change.
-
So the perpendicularity of the slope arrows is a way to check if the baseline is angled correctly?
-
Mr Rocky agrees!

Thanks! Much appreciate. My difficulty is there are so many lines that are on top of each, I cannot tell what' going on. Maybe a button that would show only baselines and walls so it would be easy to see if a baseline has moved. Or a way to lock a baesline. CA doesn't seem to be big on locking things. These baselines kill me over and over.
-
That's how I did it.
-
AFAIK, I always connect the baseline to the outer wall. They just get messed up.
-
I am only modifying the edge angles, not slopes.
-
Yes, I use all the tools except the one that limits angle changes to the line being changed. That function doesn't seem to exist.

The plan is posted.

So, I'm attempting to get all these roof planes to meet. If an angle is off when I check 'selected line', I change the angle, then another angle changes! Is there a way to change an angle and tell CA that they have no permission to change any other angle? Ashley close.plan

I usually try this extending returns and sometimes it works out ok but I cannot seem to lengthen both sides enough to meet in the middle. I'm convinced it's not the proper way to do this so I'm asking for alternate recommendations. Thanks CA genii.

Ah, ok. Thanks all!

This was what I meant that he said. "Once closed though, you get a couple extra options, one of which is to set the interior to be flat." An option, a switch. Same thing right?
-
Thanks! Did you create this or import from a library?
-
This is my best attempt at describing this doorway. I have tried placing the doors first then modifying the arch type. No. I have tried placing a doorway but I'm missing the window and doors. CA won't let me place doors inside a doorway. I've searched the libraries but didn't see this. Would all you gurus build this from scratch? I might be able to do this in Max or Blender. I'd appreciate your thoughts! Thanks, Rocko

So I got it figured out. You don't need to find flat switch. It appears you need to make three lines at 0. The first line should be at the very left edge. The first two lines then define the flat plane. The third line at 0 prevents CA from interpolating the first two lines, thus leaving it flat. Then a fourth line at the right edge of the terrain so that CA interpolates a curve between the 3rd 0 and the fourth line...in this case -120.

Thanks for the video! Alaskan_son says there is a flat switch to set between two elevation lines. That should probably be the default unless you can also specify any alternative.
