  1. I just opened a plan to find that all of y exterior wall types are missing their normal solid fill. The solid fill shows up in the preview in the dialogue box and if I change the fill to anything other than solid it shows up perfectly fine in the plan itself. Confused!
  2. Never mind I got it - thank you very much!
  3. Sorry to be such a dunce but could you explain the process a bit? I dont see a text height criteria
  4. So I have a set of plans that are very developed and somehow I missed that all my rich text notes are to small. I have tried changing my general text default, rich text default and annotation set default and nothing changes. I have to be missing something very obvious, right? It would take forever to go through and change each one individually.
  5. Figures! How about a global font size change? I changed my defaults but the text in plan stays the same. There's gotta be a way to do that???
  6. Does Chief have the ability to do a global search for a word and replace all instances of it in the current layer set? Thanks!
  7. Thanks, never thought to do that. Any idea why it might be happening?
  8. Yes I am using X9. If I do a "by area" it gives me something similar to your output but still no finish decking material. If I do a "by room" I get zilch. I'm trying to do a "by room" as this deck is a recent ad on and the rest of my materials for the project have been exported into Excel...
  9. Hi, So I have a deck that isn't reporting to my material list. It generates framing correctly in plan and 3D. Its room assignment is correct but it still just is not reporting any of its materials to my take-off list. Reinne_Progress.plan
  10. I agree about accuracy of model but lets be honest its easier to just round a joist length from 11'-10 11/16" to 12'-0" inside a generated schedule than it is to go deep into the model to mess with it. Cause who outside of NASA needs a cut list that accurate?
  11. Is there a way to set the tolerances of the lengths displayed for framing members in the schedule? Similar to dimensions where you can round up or down the accuracy? Thanks!
  12. Thank you! So, I went back to a week old archive and when I fill window it behaves as it should - zooms to the extent of the house proper, there are no cameras in low orbit, etc. I do think at this point I am better off repairing the plan set from an older, un-corrupted archive file. Just seems like a lower risk of having another Chernobyl meltdown.
  13. Thanks a bunch everyone! I am starting to suspect that my issue may be a result of not closing the layout file associated with this project last night and then wadda u know - I left my machine on and it did an automatic update at like 2am. Up until now I have had ZERO issues with Chief and I am usually very good about closing everything out prior to bedtime. I will most certainly be employing Dropbox though, STAT. And being more efficient with my layer and view management.
  14. Yeah, I am still getting up to speed with Chief. Long time AutoCAD only user so its been a struggle. I just dont get that even with some sloppy layer management, why would it go to bed fine and wake up sick? Also the line of corruption going back through so many archives?
  15. I believe just this plan, yes. I am to shell shocked at the moment to go look under the hood of other projects. Computer is pretty much brand new so a hardware issue seems unlikely.
  16. Sheesh! How does something like that happen?
  17. Yeah, I went back several days in the archives and they're all the same level of FUBAR. Im now just going to rework everything the best I can. This is really disheartening as I have been a Chief skeptic for sometime and was almost a full blown convert.
  18. Thanks for looking into it for me, I really appreciate it. You all have been way more helpful than Tech support. I just dont get how it was perfectly fine yesterday and them BAM! Of course it happens the day I am trying to publish the set (that is already two days late!) I have to go back a whole week and hope I can remember all the subtle little tweaks I made. What a disaster.
  19. Yes, the first floor doesn't seem to be the issue but try going to floor 2. No matter what I do all the exterior walls up there are gone.
  20. Thanks for responses guys. Yes, I looked in the archives and the only usable backup is from a week ago. So much has been done to the plans in the last week that its going to be next to impossible to be certain everything is where its supposed to be. I went through and checked my layer sets and that doesn't seem to be the issue. I mean, when I do a 3D overview with "All On" I am still missing massive amounts of information. I am losing my mind over this and apparently about to lose a ton of time and money. .
  21. Si I just talked to Tech support and they're like "sorry, your just going to have to start over" Months of work has to be restarted the day its due? This is beyond unacceptable.
  22. OK, I am just about done with my set of drawings so this morning I wake up to go over final details and then print and send. Nope - major problems in both the layout file and the master drawing. The master drawing - none of my exterior walls are showing their fill patterns in plan view. My entire second story walls dont show up at in either plan view or 3D. The layout file lost all of its links to various drawings, details, etc. I dont understand - yesterday it was fine, today its a pile of hot garbage. Fortin.zip
  23. Yes, fonts were controlled individually above ceiling joists
  24. Hi I have doen all of my cross sections and details in AutoCAD and am trying tgo import into Chief. Everything comes across great except for my text formatting - if I dont explode my text in CAD prior Chief doesn't see it at all and by exploding it I loose all my formatting. There is ALOT of text to deal with. Anyone here know of a workaround for this? Thanks!
  25. Here is the plan. Thanks! Oqunquit_Working_12019.plan
