  1. I have all my:

Window Details in individual CAD Detail Windows within a Window Detail Plan

Door Details in individual CAD Detail Windows within a Door Detail Plan

Railing Details in individual CAD Detail Windows within a Railing Detail Plan

    etc.....

Each CAD Detail Window is named in the Project Browser as a way to identify it.

Best way to keep the details updated.

  2. You can always go to their download website and read the release notes. That will tell you if they have done anything that will improve your performance. Most of these driver revisions are to address or add very specific game related issues. If that's the case then the update is not necessary unless you play that particular game.

The updated driver was the Game ready driver.

The graphics driver is 358.91. By my understanding this is what chief uses.

  3. I recently replaced my laptop with a New ASUS Republic of Gamers G751JL unit. It was reasonably priced and works great with Chief.

+1 ASUS ROG. I have a 17" screen laptop. Huge but works in the field great.

  4. Here's a quick cost breakdown of one option with a 5960X CPU, gtx 980ti etc. With a new PCI M.2 ssd add about $350 - $500. Build it and overclock it yourself.

    Larry,

One of the things that speed up the system is the Intel 750 pci-express 3.0 400gb drive or equal. This speeds up undos, etc.

Anyone that is looking to upgrade to a new system needs to look seriously at this type of drive. Cpu's are fast but one of the major slowdowns is the i/o to the hard drive. This solves the issue.

  5. You have to be kidding me....  10 years later I learn this?  Hey,  thank Ken,  nice job,  I will give you a point,  I would give you 20 points  if I could.

Scott this does not even begin to repay all you have taught me.

Edit. To all chief users whom have answered questions this does not even begin to repay all you have taught me.

  6. Just be careful when interperting those system/component performance numbers. That #6 unit is heavily tricked out. You can use the Baseline options to locate and organize the comparative systems or it may be best to through-out the top two and bottom two to get a better picture, especially when one really jumps out way ahead of the pack.

From what I am seeing #6 is a pretty typical I-7 -5820 intel processor. The average cpu mark is 12991 the benchmark for #6 was  12868

  7. I went thru the plan you posted. There are many issues causing the problem. The 1st floor wall does not align with the wall above and you are not using the same pony wall at that area at the foundation. I attached a picture of that area. I have been where you are in the learning curve. While the people in ChiefTalk help it can not replace training. I fought Chief for way to long then finally took classes. Now I run Chief instead of it beating me like a drum.

  8. I found that I already had both of these catalogs downloaded in a prior version (X6) on at least 1 of my 3 computers.  So I just exported imported them to X8.

But that isn't the point.  SSA is supposed to include all content, not just some.

    Joe,

I have not downloaded either since x3. Just kept paying my SSA. My understanding was I could download at any point that I found a need for them.

Now I feel like I have just been ripped off / pick pocketed.

It was kind of in my pocket a few days ago. Now I reach in and find someone (CHIEF) just stole it from me.

Yep Chief just ripped me off!!!

    POC

Below Joey had the best answer

I think a compromise would be to give current SSA members the opportunity to download and backup what was previously included. Give us a grace period to get what we need.
