Not in California. Unless you consider the golf team.

Without trees over the roof I think that gutter would get flushed out about every 4 hours in your neighborhood. (I lived in Seattle for 9 years, worked on my own and for Buffalo Design)

It depends on if you want to pay someone for this task. If you have budget for this go to this website and post it as a job

This is a pretty simple script although you will probably want to provide several trees for the distribution so they don't have to code an actual tree. There are other websites that specialize in freelancers for film and modeling projects of this sort.
It may be as easy as taking your distributed path of trees with the slight rotation into a proper 3d modeling package and just putting a modifier box around the group to stretch asymmetrically in Z at one end. I suspect you could do this in Sketchup but I am not very familiar with the program. I do know you could do this stretch easily in Maya or Max.

First, thank you very much Tommy for making the effort to put this out for us. Second, Uhhhhh, I will knock the way Yusuf is proposing to show the volute and handrail. That is a tripping hazard and if my building inspector saw that he would punch me in the face with my own fist.

What command are you using when copying and pasting? Hot key? If hot key, try directly from the pull down menu.

More importantly, is that a wicked cool looking floating analog clock?

Post some images. Post your plan file which will contain the settings you are using. You have provided very few clues.
-
Are you using the dimensions to change the placement of the wall? If so, you must do this in one direction. Find a starting point and move away from there.
-
Have you tried aligning things with the make parallel tool? Post that plan as that seems very odd if they are parallel.

If i remember correctly you can only edit roof planes in v10 from the plan view. Make your plan view look like the attached image by breaking the roof plane where it is circled and then stretch it up along the direction of the arrow. How to get the correct height in that ancient software is a mystery to me. I did use v10 when I first bought the program but only for a few weeks as X1 was just being released.

Use an invisible wall to divide the room in order to make the distinct ceiling planes
-
What do you want it to look like? Can you sketch out the desired result?
-
If you are using X6 you might do well to use the pdf output directly from Chief. I am very happy with the results currently.

Due to the economic crisis in the U.S. we have been downsizing and therefore a 400 s.f. house in the us is all that we can afford to build. Most families are sleeping in one room, vertically. Our cars have also gotten much smaller so most garages are barely bigger than a bread box. I primarily travel by skateboard or when traveling long distance I throw a net over flocks of seagulls and hope to be pulled in the general direction of my destination.
Or, refer to Glenn's post.

Mickey, yes. That is the deal with those things. Those are known as City Hall layers. Don't fight it.

So I have been wondering if it was just me. Did I lose my ability to control my mouse? Are my glasses so very bad? Do I need to give up coffee? Drink more coffee? No! I just needed to get the friggin setting right on my prefs. The edit tolerance size was set to zero minutes ago. Now, all is well with the world as long as Pandora radio does not make me do a sponsor activity for feminine hygiene products.

Zoom out as far as you can but still locate your plan. Do a marquis selection in the zones where your project is not and see if anything shows up selected, delete.
-
Do a search for "Volute" on the old website forum.

If you take a group of your items and make an Architectural Block and save that to the Library it will maintain the layer assignments when you explode the block after dropping it into your new plan. This is probably a more efficient way to work considering the task. Just save out a large group of items that you are using in each plan and then drop that group off to the side of the plan for picking and choosing as you draw.

That took longer than I expected. I was hoping the dig would drive Wendy out of hiding.

@1st Impression, sometimes when making a selection with the mouse you get something else that is in close proximity and has a higher selection priority. You can click then hit the tab key to scroll through the items that the mouse has clicked over. Also, this could be an issue of how your preferences are set regarding whether you select the room first or not.

I used to (kindly) scream at this kid in the studio where I worked. He spoke girl. He just strung words together in sentences with no subjects. I would slam down my fist on the desk "I need NOUNS": Kinda the same way with the plan files but no one can hear my fist. I was going to throw out the reversed wall guess earlier but I was on a deadline and I am a fan of the peanut gallery. How about that thread with the electrical item hack. That is some good stuff.

Thanks,
I use MyHand2 for the architectural hand drawn looking font. I like it a little better than Chief Blueprint. If you search that font name on the old forum you will find a link to the font.
