  1. Doing some elevations for an as-built/remodel. Initially, i created the Psolid at the top because the frieze wasn't building correctly. Now....for some inexplicable reason, i can't select, move, edit or delete it. Nothing.

Also....for no apparent reason, my pointer highlights whatever possible direction i might draw a line or wall. I've looked everywhere, but how on earth do i turn this off?

    Pics and plan attached.

    Thanks.

I have a roof that has no overhang at the eave and has a large fascia & frieze but the gable ends just have a 1"x6" trim board.  Somehow, when I build the roof that way, the trim on the gable end becomes as large as the fascia.  I want the 1x6 trim on the gable ens.  See attached.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

you have the frieze on the gables at 11" and the fascia on the eave at 11". adjust accordingly.

I have a Mac,  I had same problem.  this is what works for me.

I download file to my download library.

Then I drag the file from the download folder onto an open  CA11 plan file.

The new bonus library is now in my library.

i have a mac and essentially do the same, except i don't even open the download folder. I just drag it from the download tab on my browser to the CA icon and there it is. Easy peasy.

    Adam is correct.

Stephen, what we are saying is that when you mull 2 windows with no casing on them that you will get a mulled unit with interior and exterior casing and then have to take the extra step to remove the casing.

    gotcha. thanks.

If I understanding you correctly the room you want at the 9' keep as that in your settings then the rooms you want the ceiling to be higher open the room dbx and under ceilings just put in the 144 and the ceiling will be raised and sloped where needed

I just did this and had to lower the roof plane baseline 36" to make it work.

  6. Was working in X10 just a minute ago when I accidentally clicked something -no idea what and "undo" didn't help. All of a sudden all of my lines are very bold and blurry. I thought it was just the one plan on X10 but now all of them have the same characteristic. All the line weights look right and match what I have in X9. See photo for comparison -X9 on the right and X10 on the left. I know Solver or one of you other geniuses knows exactly what is wrong. Thanks.

BTW,  a real nuisance these days is the lag when opening up a DBX.  I am opening DBX for symbols all the time,  1 second time a lot equals a lot of wasted time.

I have a Mac almost identical to the one you just bought/returned and noticed the same lag in opening a DBX....very irritating. But only in X10. No such problem in X9.

do you stay connected to the internet ?

Chief needs to contact the "mother ship" every two weeks for the software lock to stay activated

this is why I prefer the hardware locks :(

    yes...continually.

  9. I downloaded X10 a little over a week ago and all was fine until yesterday when I got a message stating that Chief was active on another computer (it's not) and locked me out. My locker showed it to be active, so I deactivated 10 and then reactivated. Problem solved until today when it did it again.

    Anybody else see this?

I have an odd roof plane I need to draw. It is a simple triangle shape but each of the triangle points needs to be at a different elevation, making each edge non-parallel to the floor. It also make it difficult to determine the correct direction to draw the roof plane's baseline.  See attached pics.

Any ideas on how to draw a triangle roof plane like this would be greatly appreciated.

It would be nice if the "Change Roof Pitch or Height" dialog offered one more button to "Pivot About Selected Edge".

    Thanks,

    LaVor

I'd be more inclined to draw/build it like this.
