From the album: Master Bathroom
The existing space was already defined, but needed an update from builder grade materials -
I use room dividers to create the shower area and then Plolylines to make the walls and the doors. I will also use them to make the curb when needed (this one uses a level entry system). I saved my "brackets" and hardware to my library and plop them in and adjust their locations as I need to.

x6 is working great for me. these would have been 15 minutes plus in older versions, but I got these down to anywhere from 1.5 minutes to 3.5 minutes (depending on the reflection in the glass partition.

Dennis, I use a lot of different lights, so I would have alot of different lights lined up in the template. Glenn, that is the completely obvious thing that I was overlooking. Have a great weekend everyone!

I change certain characteristics of lights to improve/speed up raytracing. Is there a way to set the changes so they stay that way the next time I use that light symbol in another file? I am not sure if I am missing something completely.

Doug, Still getting used to the new forum, I cannot find a way to attach a file in reply (only in a new thread). If you make a rectangular room, add the molding SR,CSR from Yorktowne's catalog as a chair rail, and try to raytrace. If you make a larger room 50', I get a warning before opening a render view that too many surfaces may affect 3d view. the regular room (16x16) i had no lights to try to eliminate that aspect.

http://www.chieftalk.com/showthread.php?60658-raytrace-with-dentil-molding&highlight=dentil Original question with dentil molding.

I had this issue a few years ago with dentil molding, and coming across it now. I have to recreate an existing kitchen that has a plate rail at the soffit. I am using SR,CSR from Yorktowne's molding. It freezes the raytracer in X6. My previous issue with the dentil molding was it created a large number of surfaces that consumed the raytracer. The plate rail, I assumed would be no different than a rail with spindles (on a much smaller scale). Anyone have any solutions besides creating 3ds symbols (last solution, and beyond my abilities). Have to finish the project today. For anyone looking to recreate it, make a room, add the molding referenced above and try to raytrace.

I had a folder with various materials in it labeled "tile". It is now missing from the folder list under user catalog. If I search for a particular material name, that material shows in the browser and is available to use. If I right click for browser location, it just goes to the main list of folders. Any idea how I can find it again? thanks!

Stone material hanging up on Raytrace (X6)
JasonParsons replied to JasonParsons's topic in General Q & A
I will Kirk. The reason I suggested it was the stone, is because I raytraced this project, then added the stone and had the issue. On another plan, I was able to sub a different stone and get it to work. The Caustics come up when you run the wizard on high quality outside, so I have always left them there. Thanks! -
Stone material hanging up on Raytrace (X6)

Try checking compute caustics. I had that checked. Thanks! -
I have tried several Coronado and Cultured Stone options, but when I raytrace with them, photon shooting freezes at 91%. If I switch to a "quick" set up, It works. Any thoughts?? gittleson plan 1c.plan
