Is it possible to change the Label Layer of an Object?
Spectrum-Design replied to Spectrum-Design's topic in General Q & A
Got it, Thanks much guys! -
Hello, I am looking to get separate layer control of two groups of the same style object. For instance - I have two layers for Furniture - One is Furniture - Existing, One is Furniture - New. However, both groups have their Labels on the same (default) Layer. Is it possible to change the layer that the Labels are on per individual object? Thanks!

I get that sometimes - seemingly randomly. The only thing I've observed is that when it occurs, it is typically that the second segment (between the text and the segment that is supposed to have an arrow) is relatively short.

Drawing a rail to "Follow Stairs" did the trick. Thanks Chopsaw! And everyone else!

Okay, here's my second attempt. I made a new railing section that is horizontal on my top stair riser. The 'newel' at the front of the top riser is a 3D solid. Is there a way to get my stair rail to stop at the front of the top tread? Thanks in advance all

That is how I would typically do it, but I specifically don't want the deck railing post to be the stair railing post in this instance

I can't seem to get my stair railing to have a post at the top tread. Am I missing something, or would this have to be drawn manually?

I get this all the time too: Assertion failed: A serious error occurred. Do not save the file in its current state. If you want to try saving your work, use Save As to create a new file. Please restart the program and contact Technical Support. C:\p4sync\dev\Releases\20\chief\source\ChiefQtApplication.cpp(238): Error #272000999 "A serious error occurred. Do not save the file in its current state. If you want to try saving your work, use Save As to create a new file. Please restart the program and contact Technical Support." 6/17/2018 10:20:51 PM Build: 20.3.0.54x64 Thanks David. I know I've read about solutions to change something in the registry to keep nag windows like that from popping up in other programs. I don't know enough about registries or anything that technical to know if that is possible in this circumstance though.

I have a laptop that I use at home which does not support a high enough version of Open GL for Cheif X. I can do enough in plan to make it worthwhile to use the laptop, regardless of the video card. I get this pop-up window a lot: C:\p4sync\dev\Releases\20\chief\source\appmgr.cpp(1031): Error #272032208 "You are using a video card that will not give you optimal performance from this product. Ensure that your video card meets the minimum system requirements and that you are using an up to date video card driver." 6/17/2018 6:20:40 PM Build: 20.3.0.54x64 Is there anyway to disable this nag window?

This is what I've typically done. I may end up using 2 layout file more often. It is much easier to just change the referenced plan file than it is to relink all the views. Thanks for the input guys!

That is what I did, though I typically like to keep them all in one layout file than having a different layout file for each option
