AFAIK, Chief doesn't have a "Create Arrow Style" Tool.  That should actually be a part of a good "Create Line Style" Tool.  Maybe someday....

In the mean time, there are some very similar predefined Arrow Styles that can be used.

    That's too bad.

I know the ones that come with Chief Architect come close, however I'm just not crazy about them.

  2. Hey All,

I'm looking to create a cad line with custom arrows for my joist direction labels. I'm just wondering if this is even possible?

I've tried creating one with CAD lines and then blocking it, however when I stretch the newly created block, the arrows become skewed.

I then thought about creating a stretch plane for the block, but that doesn't seem possible either.

David, it looks like the whole street is up for sale. They announce something being built that would encourage all the selling? Perhaps one owner...look like the would be absentee landlord holding. For the price of the 20% down you could have a real nice house here in town.

    Jerry,

I think there's some land assembly going on in that area which have driven the prices up.

Unfortunately these prices aren't unusual at all. You can do a quick search in Vancouver BC at www.realtor.ca and you'll come across these:

And how far does a million dollars go in the downtown core? About an 800 sq ft apartment:

Sorry for the wall of text and links, but the list goes on and on...

Yeah, thats the impression I get. A small price to pay to be in such a rich built environment though!

The problem is that the prices of homes don't reflect the wages. It's come to light that our housing market is being driven up by foreign investors through a loophole that our government turned a blind eye to.

    Here's a property for sale: https://www.locatehomes.ca/bc-real-estate-listings/vancouver/mls-R2119722/2848-East-Broadway-Vancouver-V5M1Z1?id=262141349

Look at the price. That's not a typo - $3.3 million.

Was told it would be $1,000 to replace it

It is suggested to get "named insurance" for items like security keys or hardware locks

in case they are lost or stolen

CA will replace a broken lock for a small fee

but if lost or stolen they don't have to - and probably won't

the cost of the insurance is minimal and is a business expense

Didn't even think of this. Thanks for the suggestion :).

  6. I started out as a Revit user (2 years).

Migrated to Softplan as completing designs in Revit was taking way too long.

Used Softplan for about a year when I lost my USB Security Key. Was told it would be $1,000 to replace it. Instead of replacing it, I just went with Chief.

Within 10 minutes of trying Chief Architect, I instantly regretted shelling out $2600 for Softplan.

For residential design, I honestly don't think there is a better program out there than CA.
