  1. I would like my grade beam to be tied in slightly above the corner of the foundation to accommodate even dimensions for the formwork on all the front sections.  I cannot seem to get a clean join for the construction drawings.  Do I have to do this with a CAD overlay like I have attached or is it possible with wall joins?  I have given up trying:-(

Plan and Image should be attached.

This is in X9.  I see I have to update my profile.

  2. I have been getting the same message occasionally too.  It has just been in the last while so I will keep an eye on when it happens.  I also have a wireless router with a good signal and the issue seems to clear itself up if I ignore it.

  3. I was having a problem finishing up a layout set yesterday.  I had sent everything to layout, looking the way I want, went to print a check set and found problems.  My roof layout was showing some CAD default items from the main level (2 story house).  I opened that plan view and turned off cad default layer and when I returned to the layout set the cad default items in my separate cad details had also disappeared.  If I turn them on in the detail, that also turns them back on in the roof layout!  It was an endless loop.  I changed everything to different layers and managed to get a printable plan.  Why would a roof layout plan affect CAD Details that only had PDF (cad default layer) and notes (text layer) in it?

Must be user error and I will send the old copy of plan and layout to tech support but would like to know if anyone else has seen this.

  4. Sorry, I wasn't at the computer when I answered earlier.  You can use the material eyedropper or material painter and put a different material on each separate roof plane of an auto-roof but it will revert if you rebuild. I'm not sure if that would be a problem with material lists but it does work for presentations.

  5. Yes, I had started off with a new template in X9 and didn't realize the macros weren't there.  I will now be using my modified SAM method based on this template but need to get all these little things right.

  6. I'll give that a try Joe, thank you.  These were new design drawings, all started in X9.  I hadn't  looked at any I brought forward from X8.  Obviously my macro skills are nonexistent and will probably stay that way!  Much too busy with projects.....

i did it Rays way for this current job and it worked but a bit time consuming.

  7. I have been using X9 for a while but just started to do some final Con. Docs.  I went to use some of my custom macros from Joe and realized they didn't transfer over from X8.  Is there a simple procedure to do this?

  8. Rob.  I too have the same problem.  Generally I use a grade beam, either concrete or ICF, and it notches for the door opening but the slab doesn't come out over the top.  I thought this had been discussed many times because of this exact issue but if there is a change needed on the model I would also like to know how.

  9. I have a similar problem to Johnny.  I would like to reflect a garage door so the panels are reversed.  In the attached photo, I placed the right hand door and then did a copy and reflect about the front wall center.  I also tried to do it reflected on the back wall but the panels remain the same.  Is it possible to reverse these panels?
