  1. I'm thinking it might be something to do with X11 and eliminating the toe kick? Here's a standard front in X10 and another with bow front in X10. The bow front has something on right side running all way down to floor?

I tried X11 with standard face and the vertical "fin" still shows up. I'll upload the plan file for review and comment

  2. Thanks for the comments! I downloaded Nanawall details on Chief as well as David Michael Design's as well. They work well in plan and elevation views, but do not show up in the 3-D view for the door schedule? The door frames show up in the 3-D door schedule, but the actual Nanawall doors do not. I hope CA will eventually update this to include Nanawall or LaCantina doors in their door schedules

  3. I have a project where the homeowners want folding doors out to their patio in several locations. I imported NanaWall's detail, but it's just a CAD block. The check mark "include in door schedule?" dbx was checked, but it doesn't show up in the door schedule? Also, I was hoping to show the doors folding to one side in their "open position". I'm using X10 and have been using CA since 1998.

Could you help with this series of questions?

  4. Perry,

I still cannot drag the CMU wall to match the end of the exterior stucco wall? I click and drag but nothing happens?

Am attaching the "Edit Wall" tool selection. Once selected, the gray wall (block wall) won't move and not sure how it's supposed to work? The diamond pick points on the top and bottom don't do anything. When you select the lower one and drag the CMU wall downward, it snaps right back to its original location.

  5. I wanted to find out if anyone has a way to turn off the Wall Conflict Notification in X7? I tried locating a concrete block wall next to the exterior wall of a stucco-clad surface, and the block wall won't snap to the edge of the wall.

What happens is the "gray circle" notification comes up and it's very annoying - you can't turn it off or make the block wall snap.

Take a look at the attachment and see if you've encountered something similar? Thanks

  6. I've got a question on X6 regarding dimensions and how to over-ride what's shown on the drawing?

For example, a dimension says "36'-01/8" and you want it changed to read "36'-0"". My old way is to use a text box, fill it with white color and a white border. Set it over the top of the errant dimension and then use Text layer and call out 36'-0". This is not a great way of over-riding the dimension. In AutoCAD, you have a way of doing this very easily. With Chief X6, there must be a way to accomplish this without all the extra effort?

I've been looking a the vids and cannot figure this one out? Is this even possible to over-ride?

  7. I've been using Chief since 1998 and recently upgraded to X6 (from X4) on a new Mac. I downloaded the Core Images files and cannot locate the background images for my renderings? Is there something that I need to download for these? I'm very, very impressed with the "look and feel" of Chief on OSX Mavericks as it looks just the the PC version.

Any help would be appreciated as always
