  1. Thanks Rene. We will use your advice and give it a try.
  2. Thanks for your comment as well Rosco. I'm running both platforms. Perry's correct. My colleague uses a very small display setting on his 34" monitor. My eyes aren't as young anymore and I need to use a larger screen display for my 34" Dell monitor (3440 x 1440 and 150% text size) . Learned something new today as well!
  3. Perry, thanks for your suggestion. What is the cause for this, as this happens many times when sharing files with a colleague? Having to manually open and stretch the text boxes is time consuming, and wondering how to prevent this from occurring?
  4. We're both using the same font (Bahnschrift Light Condensed), and just checked all of the setting in Default. Reopened the Layout file and it's still crowding the characters together.
  5. Want to reach out to you regarding a conflict I'm having with text shown in both Plan and Layout files. I'm collaborating with another designer, and when opening up an existing plan file, the text is sometimes jammed together and does not automatically resize itself. Attaching an image of what I'm encountering. I went to Preferences and Default settings and didn't find anything to change this around.
  6. Many thanks guys, as I did Rob L. said, and it works perfect! Able to rotate and move around easily. YOU GUYS ROCK!
  7. The image of the sky is the Camera view looking at the model that I made. It's supposed to be flat with the flat portion facing up toward the sky. The way the block sits currently, is vertically-oriented. The model that I traced over was the PDF section with the man standing. I traced over the outer portions of the truss-roof, and then converted it with "Convert to Polyline" tool as a slab. I gave it a 35' depth. I was trying to extrude the object, but it was converted to a vertical block, and I need it to be a flat block sitting on top of a wall (shown in PDF section). All I'm trying to do is lay the block flat from its current vertical position.
  8. Created and modeled a 3D truss roof into a custom profile. Traced over the attached PDF and converted it into a 3D object. What I can't figure out (in my small brain) is how to move the image so that it can be imported into the floor plan as a "flat roof"? Attaching a section of what it looks like, a Plan file, and Camera view of what it looks like currently. In Section view, it looks great. When you take a camera shot, it's 90 degrees vertical...? What is the procedure for creating this block as a flat image? This is a tricky one CUSTOM ROOF MODEL.plan
  9. Many thanks for your help. It worked with Edit Wall Layer Intersections. Attaching what it looks like, and what I'm trying to create.
  10. I created a 6' tall concrete block wall using horizontally-stacked blocks. When trying to locate next to the main layer of the house, it merges into the main layer and will not allow it to locate next to the main layer. Please see screen shot. Not sure how to locate it right next to the stucco house wall.
  11. Thanks for the comment. I'm having difficulty with most of the Plan files and images not copying over. Tried "Backup Entire Plan" thinking this would copy everything to the flash drive. It didn't work.
  12. Hoping someone else has encountered similar issues while creating a Layout in PC and then exporting entire Layout/Plan Files to MAC OS. I created an entire project on a PC and exported (I thought) all files to flash drive. I tried opening the Layout file from a MacBook Pro, and encountered numerous windows indicating that X15 was missing files and attachments? Question: How do you export the "entire" project from PC to a MAC OS with all attachments, PDF's, Plan files, etc. remaining intact?
  13. Rene, Please explain where "I" is located? No idea. Thanks
  14. Robert(s), thanks for your comments. Both work the same way and get identical results. Is there a way to manipulate one or more of the doors in the schedule to just show feet in lieu of inches? E.g., a very large, wide garage door 22' wide x 8' high. Can someone manipulate it this way? If not, it would display 264" x 96".
  15. Question - is there a way we can modify the Door and Window Schedules to display the sizes in inches rather than current format? Please see attachment for configuration options? DOOR SCHEDULE PDF.pdf
  16. Thanks for the comments. I tried the Custom Library button, but it's only good for placing one object (e.g., AFCI outlet). How can a person remove and reconfigure the six basic objects in the electrical defaults child button?
  17. Question about how we can add and/or arrange current 3D objects in Electrical drop down menu? Attached file shows the default, and very limited 3D objects to select and use in the Electrical plans. My question is - how can we add more (say 15 or so) 3D objects to the drop down menu? That said, how can we arrange or delete some of the default 3D objects in the drop down menu? It would be great to be able to add our own "default" 3D objects such as Single Pole, Two Way, Three Way Switches; 6" Recessed Soffit Lights; Ceiling Fan; 220 Outlet; AFCI Outlet; Pendants; WP GFCI Outlet; Bathroom Ceiling Fan, etc.
  18. Right, for some reason, mine was reconfigured and didn't display correctly. Many thanks again for your help!
  19. Ok, found out what the correct setting should be. 1. Schedule Specification is located in either Door or Window schedules - See attached "1" 2. Existing door (left) and two new doors (D03, D02) to right side - labels shown only for new doors? - See attached "2" 3. Existing door shown without label. See settings "3" 4. New door D03 shown with label and what the incorrect dialog box shows "4" 5. SOLUTION - New door D03 with correct settings that remove the label - "Label Layer / Use System Layer (Doors, Labels) - attachment "5" Next time, I'll try to do a video, and hope this helps anyone else with this question on "Removing Door and Window Labels on Electrical Plans"
  20. Thank you, but where is the Schedule located? Is it in the top task bar...where?
  21. Where do I find "Schedule Specification"? I've looked for it and can't locate.
  22. I still have issues with the label showing up after changing options in "gear" that Eric mentions above. Please see screen shots of labels showing up in sliding door and garage door, even after selecting "Suppress Label" in the dialog boxes. Also, no mention of Labels in the Active Layer Set. This is the Electrical Layer Set by the way.
  23. Eric, Many, many thanks for this! All of the buttons in the "gear" were checked by default. I used your selections and my life is much better.
  24. Hope I'm making sense with subject matter. I've been looking without success, for a button to activate the Active Layer Display Options that highlights the "current layer" that I'm drawing on. E.g., drawing a floor plan and adding text for a note inside a room. Once the note is finished and OK is selected, it's added to the floor plan. Easy peasy. When going back to highlight the "note" nothing in the Active Layer Display Options dialog box indicates the "live" layer that was selected. Is there a setting that I need to select that enables the Active Layer Display Options that shows what the name of the selected layer is? Attaching a simple highlight of label in "Laundry". In the Active Layer Display Options dbx, nothing is highlighted or shows what this layer is?
  25. Sorry Rene. Here's the file for you. I removed it after the "case was solved"
