HD 2012 to 2017 to CAP 2017

I have been using HD 2012 and we are looking into CA 2017 up grade.  Not sure i will utilize all features of CA 2017.

If i upgrade to HD 2017 now and decide to go to CAP 2017, will it be any more of a cost than just making the jump to CAP 2017?
