X18 Library Issues

I try to download addtional content from the library for X18 and it open X17 and I get this message

In X18, don't download it by double-clicking the file.

1. Download the Bonus Catalog from Chief's website and choose Save rather than Open.
2. Open Chief Architect X18.
3. Go to Library → Import Library.
4. Go to your Downloads folder.
5. Select the library file you just downloaded.
6. Click Open.

X18 will import it directly into your Library Browser.

When you double click a file, Windows will open whatever is set as your default application for that extension (.calib) - it sounds like this is X17, and the catalog you downloaded was for X18.

 

You can associate .plan, .layout, .calib, .calibz and .caproj extensions with X18 by going to Preferences -> General -> File Management -> Associate Files With This Program...

Or, right click a .calib in Windows Explorer, Open With -> Choose Another App... Select X18 and choose "Always".

 

Then, double clicking will import it into X18.
