Inserting a truss that has been modified in CAD Detail Management into my plan

HI 

I have modified some trusses in the CAD Detail Management in CA X17 but they are not presently inserted into my framing plan. 
1) Is there a way to select one of these modified trusses and insert it into the framing plan?

 

2) Is there a way to switch a one type of roof truss with another? IE If I have  truss TR-1 how can I swap it with  truss TR-3 which is in my CAD Detail Management?

 

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I would prefer plan view, but I will take either way as long as I can manipulate them into the correct position.

how would the truss look any different in plan view from before and after you modified it?

Sorry for the confusion. I just want the model to accurately represent the way the truss shall be constructed.

 

So if I modify the truss in the CAD Detail Management view, I want to be able to insert that same modified version in other parts of the model.

 

When I was referring to plan vs elevation I was looking at the different ways I could insert the modified version of the truss.

the current plan view looks like:

 

 If you make them longer in plan view, they show as longer:

 

 

 

If you make them longer in truss detail, it does not look to make them longer in plan view. what are you looking to see in plan view?
