Trees and shrubs disappear in physical based renderings. Why?

Happy holidays! Just curious. When I generate interior renderings of a project in standard view, I can still see the trees on the outside. When I switch to physically based renderings, the trees disappear. They are checked to display in the layers display options too. Thanks in advance for the help!

If you are using the 2D plant images, you will need to turn off the setting in the plant 'image always faces camera'.  

 

You could also use the new 3D speedtree plants - they look great
