Main floor wall not aligning with foundation walls

Hello,

 

I am fairly new but have spent some months to design my own home. I have come across a problem where I am trying to align my first floor walls to the foundation walls however, the first floor walls goes offset inwards if I use auto align tool. I am also noticing a notch along the top outside of my foundation wall. These 2 issues seems to be at same location of the house plans. Any help is appreciated.

Your wall definition probably has a very thick siding layer.  The program is trying to provide a brick ledge and make the alignment work with that siding thickness.

There is also a setting under the wall definition telling chief how to align your foundation walls to the first floor wall type. I think this only applies when chief builds the foundation for you. BUT this is helpful when getting your foundation started so you don't have to move foundation walls and such. This string is on the "Wall Properties" panel.
