Showing Posts that carry both deck framing and roof framing in different views/different levels

Hello - Does anyone have any tricks on the best way to show a framing post on both the roof framing plan (floor 1) and the floor framing plan (floor 0)?

1. copy the post and past in both plans (works but screws up material counts, although you can exclude one copy from the schedules)

2. set up a special layer set that only shows the posts, and use that layer as a reference view for the floor level that doesn't show the posts.(that is an old trick for stairs and other features as well)

Thank you Doug. I typically use the first suggestion but I will try the second. I am slowly working on using the material list so I would like to keep it as clean as possible.

The second method is pretty simple, you add a new reference view.
