RogerPlansit
Can this view as shown in the attached view be modeled in CA x16? I have twiddled, tweaked and diddled but cannot find a way to do this. My goal was to modify the cabinet within the cabinet specification dialog but no luck. I had to export the basic cabinet to SU and work there, then import as a symbol. I would prefer to have the cabinet remain in CA where I can make changes if required without repeating the whole process over again. 1. I was able to come close by creating the doors as a separate symbol and placing that next to the cabinet (but the cabinet still had incorrect stiles). 2. I was also unable in the spec process to use a special door. A CA movable bi-fold door choice would solve most of this. It is trivial but appearance matters. 3. As a related task I would like to model the complete cabinet with Blum hinges. CA Blum catalog only has hinges in a single configuration. 4. Stretcher supports are now in x17 but in x16 does multiple extras have conflicts? I was running in circles and don't remember. Thanks in advance for any advice.2025_07_04 C04 ISO w Doors-OPEN.pdf
scottharris
For your corner cabinet, you can open the door. Try 45 deg. (90 deg. opens it; but, it's incorrect). To insert a lazy susan, change to self selection using a library object - I used a rev-a-shelf model. X17 does have top stretchers that are automatic for frameless boxes. RogerPlansit
Thanks scottharris. good suggestion but it only gets me halfway to my goal. It looks like I goofed attaching the file. The link took the full folder. I assume you got to open the pdf. I am trying another attachment as a photo.jpg, I found a photo on the web. The photo is for an actual cabinet. My intended pdf is a view from SU as a symbol to look similar to the photo. I did not have a problem with the super susans after guidance from tech support. I may not have been clear. In fact, I was able to add the fully opened doors as separate object like the super-lazy susans. That only got me halfway there too, since the opening still had stiles, etc. I got to the finish line , but by [ ..modeling in CA--export to SU--modifying in SU--importing back into CA..] It seems like I went three side around the rectangle instead of one direct side. My main question is can the result be modeled completely in CA? If so, is there an easier way than what I did?
