recommendations for processor and storage in a new x14/x16 workstation

I'm considering the purchase of a refurbished Dell Alienware computer with the following specs.  Because it's refurbished, the specs are locked.  I'm currently using x14 but will be stepping up to x16 with this computer.  My biggest concerns are:

1) Which is a better processor, the i9-14900KF (spec'd in this computer) or the i9-14900K processor?  As I understand it, the "F" in the i9-14900KF processor means that it doesn't offer any integrated graphics as a backup to the graphics provided by the dedicated video card.  Sounds like that could be an issue if my video card craps out and I need to do some diagnostics with tech support.  Is that a thing?

2) Drive configuration and size? This computer only has one hard drive, a 2TB SSD.  My current computer has a 512GB SSD boot drive and a 1TB SATA storage drive.  both are about 80% full now.  My questions are

          a) Do you prefer one drive or two and why?

          b) Would an external drive solve my problem if it turns out that two drives is the preference?  I just feel that buying a new-ish computer and then having to add onto it seems silly.
