jfobes
Cant seem to have both? I have a plan with a second floor loft with a 12/12 pitch roof. If I call the loft area open to below it is indeed open to below, but it ads a second story to the plan. If I call it attic it drops the walls and puts the roof in line with the rest of the plan but I now have a floor in the are that should be open to below? Anyone have a fix for this? I am sure this has been done in the past. Thanks, Joe
Kbird1
Attic is a special designation in CA/HD software , which cause roof to be built off the 1st floor framing, you can't build Rooms in the Attic (A) level either, so use the 2 storey method with open to below, have a look in the KB for an article on 1 1/2 storey/Cape Cod houses (set the 2nd storey to 0" if needed, ie no knee walls) or one on Lofts/Mezzanine Floors.
